blujayAnother "Why did you review this level?" review. I know our goal is to review them all, but I mean, c'mon, review the ones that are worth reviewing first, THEN you can review these.
Home_SlicedIn general, I'm just going down the list here at Massassi. Newest to oldest. It takes about 5 minutes to load, beat, and take a few screenshots from a level like this. Another 20 minutes to convert screenshots and write the review. It takes an hour and a half just to play a level like Derra IV; believe me, it's not time consuming. There's no benefit in reviewing it later over reviewing it now. Most people who have been around Massassi awhile know which levels are good enough to try, and which ones are not. So the review doesn't effect you anyway. But what if someone new comes? There not going to have any clue which levels to look at. Hence a review site to go over everything. If there's no review and no screenshots, they won't know whether its good or bad. Just have a little patience, the levels will get reviewed.
VindicareWhoa I fell this review is a little harsh ok some people don't like saber duels but I do and for a first attempt I feel the author has done quite a good job. The cmp problems are the levels biggest let down but in terms of gameplay I find the level quite fun and playable. I think the reviewer was a bit harsh when refering to having had all the different combos of Dark Jedi. So what all authors have different ideas and if the gameplay is good who cares what the plot is. I mean if 3 sp levels all come out where you fight Yun at the end is that going to reduce the levels score just cause you fight the same dark jedi. I enjoyed playing this level and would have given it more of a 50-60 score

Darth MaulAhhh... another single-sector level... like Jedi Hell.
Home_SlicedAlright lets examine the scores so you can see my reasoning...

Architecture: default JED box, probably deserves a 0 since the author didn't have to do anything. Jedi mound adds some. Little effort= low score.
Texturing: 2 textures used well for +10 points, alignment good for +10, sky messd up (see review) for -5, HUGE cmp errors for about -10, but texturing with cmp errors is no better than the architecture so it gets a 2.
Lighting: none = 0 (debatable, but IMO no effort = no points)
Dynamics: uh, the enemies move and the bacta tanks spin, very little effort = 2 points
Item Placement: 3 bacta tanks was good amount for +20, but they seem to have repulsorlifts installed on them for -10
Flow: uh, its one sector, the mound offers a little, but not much meaning few points = 10
Playability: obviously different for everyone, but even the most devout saberist could only give this one a 50 at most comparing it with other saber levels.

Even giving it a 50 for playability only raises the score to 11. Everything is considered in the total score. A one sector level, no matter how good it plays, will get a low score.
Lightside........In terms of Architexture, anyway. A one-sector level can have a LOT in it. Here's a FINE example of fun, and visuals..... Tropical Island from the Massassi pack 2. One sector....nothin' but a BIG box. I found texture problems underwater, too. The 3dos were placed kind of improperly, and that level STILL made it into the pack......and it was nothin' but a GIANT square with some texture probs. Judging a level by how many sectors, or how 'boxy' it is....is.......well.....just kinda dull, IMO. Skydive part 2 is some of my friend's favorite level. They play it EVERY night for 3 hours straight. That had, what....11-12 sectors? This level looks okay. But still, about the 'low score for low amount of sectors' is probably not the BEST way to go. Although, it may sound reasonable, but it is also very unreasonable at the same time. That's all I have to say.

King_CobraThis level is so bad I almost vomited while playing it.
SlaterI was one of the poor souls who downloaded this level...I was greatly disappointed, but thats what happens when you don't read the review first.

I think the only thing that appealed to me was beating all the dark jedi on such limited health, otherwise this would have left my computer within five minutes.

I noticed none of the dark jedi had force powers. Depending on how you look at it this could be a good and bad thing. It means you can concentrate on saber battling in more detail (which makes good practice for rusty mouse control) but it just means there is no variety in battles.

The pallette problems are unacceptable at best but if this is a first attempt, it isn't bad. Saying that it should never have been released.

If I want a challenge with all the dark jedi, I'd prefer it to be in a more pleasing atmosphere.
BubbaWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllll...this sucks.
