Car or Truck
Author: [YOB_Goo] Reviewer: [Andy]
- Aesthetics:
- This was a great idea for a mod, but there were too many visual bugs to make this enjoyable. A dashboard would have been ideal in 1st person view. Also, in 3rd person view, the vehicle always obstructs most of the view. When moving through a door that's smaller than the car/truck, the car usually passes through. The parts of the car that don't fit just float through the wall. The texturing left a lot to be desired. All three vehicles used regular JK MATs, which looked terrible. Some custom MATs and a new HUD would have greatly improved the visual portion of this mod.
Some weapons built on top of the cars would have made the weaponry look a lot better. Bryar bolts and saber swings can't come out of nowhere!
- Gameplay:
- As I mentioned above, parts of the vehicle float through walls when going through doors or closed spaces. I found this bug to make this mod a lot less enjoyable. The way the car cut off most of the 3rd person view greatly decreased playability. How can you play if you can't see where you're going? Also, a car or truck should not be ABLE TO JUMP! There were also some terrible acceleration sounds. They were very distracting.
- Final Comments:
- This was a great idea, but a little more work to create a new HUD and new MATs would have earned this mod a much greater score. I think that this mod would have been a lot better as a TC: including a few tracks would have increased playability drastically, as there are no levels really made for cars. I suggest that you download this only if you are interested in looking at this original idea, but you will most likely be disappointed.
