Endor Base

- Aesthetics:
- Endor Base has a lot going for it in the visuals department. The cliffs surrounding the base are very realistic, some of the best I've seen. The floor of the canyon is completely flat, though. The trees in this level are absolutely amazing, and don't impact framerate too much. The indoor architecture, while not amazing, easily get the job done. The lighting is good all around, with one exception. Inside the main part of the base, there is a flashing light (nearly a strobe effect) that gave me a headache after about 1 minute. Luckily, there isn't much inside this room, so you can completely avoid it.
- Gameplay:
- Endor Base, while not having the typical deathmatch flow, does play very nicely. There are a lot of different areas, and no real dead ends. The framerate stayed pretty high through most of the areas, only dropping when I could see the whole level at once (see screenshot 1). I found a missing floor flag (screenshot 2), which could get annoying since its in a high-play area. There weren't many weapons, but the loading screen says this was on purpose. It really helps focus the fighting, though.
- Final Comments:
- You should definitely download Endor Base. While not perfect, it's a very solid multiplayer level. The visuals are good, the gameplay is good, what more could you want? I had to mark down on the lighting, since that blinking light was just harsh.
