IRN's Official Kickass Level Pack
Author: [IRN_RazorHK (Razorheadkiller) and Madman] Reviewer: [Brian]
- Aesthetics:
- This level takes place in a canyon type setting. The architecture and texturing were pretty good throughout, with only a few unbelievable perfectly square passageways. There were some misaligned textures, but due to the fact that it's a canyon type area, it's easy to forgive those errors. Also, some of the water sectors weren't tinted to match others. The lighting was pretty good, too. Overall, nothing too new or groundbreaking, but a good solid level.
- Gameplay:
- This level was a lot of fun to play, I'll admit that. While not having anything too new or special, there were enough vertical levels and ledges to keep things very interesting. There are a few flaws that hinder gameplay, however. There are some dead ends, and one area that's sole purpose is to house the rail gun. This wouldn't be too big of a deal if it wasn't a long way off, and a dead end at that. MP level authors: dead ends are bad.
- Final Comments:
- Overall, a refreshing change from most levels, but nothing too special. A lot of the appeal comes from the multiple levels; it really ups the value of a level when you're always worried about being shot from above or below! By the way, there are two versions; guns and sabers. Both offered a decent amount of fun.
