Jedi Tower
Author: [Woody] Reviewer: [SkimpyG]
- Aesthetics:
- The aesthetics in this level were nothing to talk about. The architecture only showed that the author could bake a big box with ramps in it, and cleave out boxes in the middle of a room. That was all this level was, a box with two boxes connected with a beam, and they were connected to the ceiling with a beam. You could get to the "tower" in the middle of the box via ramps and catwalks coming off the ramps. At the bottom of the room there is a useless pool of water, and the pool is again a huge box. The textures in the level didn't make much sense, but they were at least aligned correct and they were consistent. There was one hall in the level, which led to a sniping point. There was not any lighting. The level was below average.
- Gameplay:
- The gameplay was not that great either. The weapon placement was awful; it consisted of spots where tons of one or two types of ammo were in a line on the floor. There was a repeater and concussion rifle laid out along with a lot of mines, and the rail detonator was placed in a indention in one of the "tower' boxes and one in a unreachable area at the top of the room. (Found it while looking at the level in SP using Patch Commander, and the fly mode cheat). The framerate was not bad, but the game didn't flow to well. The level was not fun at all. You had to keep running because of the long ramps, and with only big weapons in the level you either had to get well ahead of your opponent and turn around and shoot him, or you had to "carpet mine", which does not make for a fun game. The level was again below average.
- Final Comments:
- The level must have been the author's first level, or at least a quick level. I don't recommend downloading this level, but some people might like the type of gameplay.
