Above Ben-Gor
Author: [Dave Allsopp] Reviewer: [Anubis_Orr]
- Aesthetics:
- Let me just start off by saying this level is absolutely HUGE! But sadly there are a few errors but for a level that is this size they are few and far between. The second picture in this review shows one of these errors, they do not restrict playing or have any adverse effect but for a moment you may see a blurred screen. The texturing was ok but stayed the same throughout most of the level, which can become boring (visually). I liked the mirror-like floor, it added to the feeling that I was in an Imperial facility which was cleaned by their sanitary standards (which is to say thoroughly).
- Gameplay:
- Due to the size of this level it is very difficult to have a flowing, consistent game. Even if you had 12+ people in this game I don't think that it would be too hard to avoid everybody completely for the duration of the game. I noticed a few drops in framerate throughout the level. Although none of them was too serious, the biggest drop I had occured when I was swimming by the "reactor". There also seemed to be some problems with the doors. Some of the doors that should've opened didn't, which denied access to some parts of the level which housed the more powerful weapons. Also in a level this size there is not nearly enough weapons available readily.
- Final Comments:
- I recommend downloading this level if you are capable of having games in which there are more than 5-6 people. If you can't participate in a game that large then I don't suggest downloading the level because it is just too big for any less people to play in.
