Town Square
Author: [NorthChaos] Reviewer: [Kindler]
- Aesthetics:
- “There is a bat in my belfry.” This is just one of the amazing areas Town Square has to offer. Okay, there are no bats, but there are two bells, and numerous very well designed halls, windows and towers. Set it what seems to be a pre-industrial town center, Town Square offers the player four different floors to explore, grab items and destroy their opponent. The mats used work very well. Looks of wood, stone and tapestry are flawless in their positioning. Further, the appropriate sound can be herd for each style of flooring. In exploring this arena, I could only find one flaw. Above the attic windows, at a certain angle, a dflt.mat can be seen. Though large, it quickly disappeared as I turned and was able to pass through the area.
- Gameplay:
- Beyond the style, Town Square offers two versions within the GOB; one for sabers, and one for guns. Either guns or sabers, this level should be played, with at most, four players. Anything beyond will not allow enough room, or enough items. Items here are sparse, which in this particular level, is good. Risk of ammo, loss of shields and health are among the risks a player has to face while avoiding the fire of their foe. Beyond simply just placing weapons, the author used different 3do’s to distinguish the weapons as if they are set against the walls. And those of you looking for a the big guns, the most you will find on the gun version is a rail gun and mines both take some effort to get at and are limited to amounts. All this combined give this level a great playing experience.
- Final Comments:
- In general, looking for a good saber or gun fight and only have a few players, download this one, you will enjoy it.
