Black and White
Author: [Moonraker] Reviewer: [darkjedi86]
- Aesthetics:
- Although I didn’t care much for the new look in this level, it is very original. As the name implies, the level is in black and white. This is the new look I spoke of, and though I didn’t care much for it, it is, like I said, very original. The architecture was decent, but there was a lot of open space, and it was pretty boxy. The texturing was, well, in black and white, so I don’t think the author had too much of a selection. The texturing was decent, but it was bland, even taking to mind that the textures had to be black and white. The lighting was very basic, and was only sector lighting as I recall. The only lighting were shadows below arches in the level. The dynamics in the level would have to be the black and white throughout the level, which was done decently.
- Gameplay:
- The item placement was probably the best thing this level has going for it. The items were all spread out evenly, and the powerful ones were pretty scarce. The flow of the level is probably the worst thing this level has for it, and I believe the flow of a level is the most important aspect in a level. The level was simply gigantic. Big levels are really annoying, especially if you don’t have force speed. The playability is pretty good, other than the severe wound it received from the flow of the level.
- Final Comments:
- This is an original level; you might want to check it out. But if you actually want to have fun in this level, I doubt you will, unless you have a very large number of people playing.
