Battleground Namek
Author: [RoN_Rancor] Reviewer: [Jason]
- Aesthetics:
- This level is basically a island in a box. The island actually has some fairly good architecture to it, though, as I said before, it is
just in a box. There are some bridges and stuff, but nothing that makes the architecture incredibly excellent. Also, what I found unrealistic
was the fact that the island seemed to be floating above the water. Interesting... The mats in this level used fairly well. Though, there were only 4 or 5 mats total in the level. I found no misaligned textures and no cmp errors, which was good. Well, the thing that brought this levels score way down was the lack of lighting. There was maybe a couple extra sector lights, but other than that, absolutely nothing. There was also only one cog. That was dieing automatically after falling into the water surrounding the island. It got pretty annoying after a while.
- Gameplay:
- This level, actually had some very good gameplay. It was a lot of fun to have huge saber battles in it. But, there was one draw back. The incredibly annoying death in the water cog. I found myself falling numerous times into the water and dieing while chasing my enemy over the thin bridges. This accounted for negative scores and detracted from the flow of the level. The item placement was average for having only a total of three items, two bacta tanks and a force boost.
- Final Comments:
- This level, in my opinion, was lacking too much. I suggest that if you like massive saber battle with very limited powerups, a very annoying cog, and some not so great architecture, you should download this level. Otherwise avoid this level, but stay on the lookout for this authors coming levels, which should show some very good improvement.
