Bakura Transfer Station
Author: [Raynar] Reviewer: [Posse]
- Aesthetics:
- This level is split up into 3 parts: a factory area, an outside canyon type area with some big old structures in the center, and a cave system. The factory area, really isn't all that special, just a room with tons of box 3dos piled up and a conveyor belt that runs through the center. The outside area gives way to the caves, which happens to be my favorite area. The caves look very good, and though the same texture is used over and over in the caves, it looks very good. The lighting is superb within the caves (screen 1, though it may not do it justice) and they are very rigid and fun to run around in. Texturing on the whole is decent with a pretty good variety used all over. The architecture overall is nothing special, if not plain except for in the caves. One thing I have to say though... WHY ARE THERE SO MANY 3DOS?!!
- Gameplay:
- The first thing i noticed was a drop of framerate at certain spots where i thought there shouldn't have been... Just something minor, but it caught my eye. Next, the level is a little lax on items... If it's supposed to be a gunners level, there should be a few more weapons, because this level is big. Overall gameplay is average, as long as you tell each other where you are and/or don't just run from your foe the whole game. There are several traps (see screen 2) to make it a bit more interesting. The level may lag a bit (slow down), because there are elevators and doors all over in the factory area and outside area on the big structures.
- Final Comments:
- This level was fun to run through and play, and I really really liked the caves in the level. But other than that the level is only average in every way.
