Aesthetics:

Starlight Oasis isn't your average Canyon Oasis modification, although it has the same texturing as Canyon Oasis it's architecture is completely different. The author has tried has tried hard to make this Canyon Oasis modification different from all the others that just have a few new mats or a new tunnel here or there, but sadly the author did not do a very good job at it. Although most of this level was just boxes joined together, it had some nice ledges, ramps and a really cool waterfall (see screenshot 2). I also enjoyed a thrust in one of the water tunnels, shooting you up into the air. The lack of 3dos and new mats really make this level dull and some of the mats that were placed in the level aren't even aligned. The lighting is very good fitting in with the night theme but the lighting in the ramps might have been a little too dark.

Gameplay:

Starlight Oasis, while having some annoying errors, does play very nicely. The framerate was excellent through out most of the level, only lagging when I looked down from the turret (see screenshot 2). The weapon and item placement was good but there was one section of the level where most of the weapons were, making gameplay bad if someone just stood near the weapons taking them all as soon as they regenerate leaving all the other players weaponless, but there was one saviour, the concussion rifle on the hill.

Final Comments:

If you have some spare time you should download this level, but other wise don't bother. While way off perfect, it has some nice aspects. The visuals and the gameplay is ok.
