Wazzit's Mining Facility 2

Aesthetics:
Well this levels architecture consisted of passage ways and beams, a few main areas, and more passage ways and more beams. The beams were simplistic and the passageways for the most part were all rectangular in nature with little variation. While the beams did add to the detail they were annoying in a few places as they often just got in the way. The colored lighting was not over used and it even allowed for one of the few mats that was used to look more plant like (see picture one). But without a video card your stuck looking at the same texture throughout most of the level. The mat usage in this level was very bland with one texture being used for most of the level. This same mat was also mis-aligned many times throughout the level, but seeing as how large the level was this is semi-understandable.
Gameplay:
The size of this level makes it difficult to find your opponent even with force seeing. This is bad in a KFY game because the chances of finding your opponents is highly unlikely. Also, the many monotonous corridors make it difficult to find where you are at times. This makes it difficult to get to that desperately needed powerup depending on your situation. The item placement was ok. The big guns weren’t too hard to find or get a hold of, but many of the other weapons were about the same in placement difficulty. There was few shield and health powerups in this level and with a level it’s size it makes it difficult to survive long once damaged. Also the supershield in this level is much too close, and easy to get to after picking up the concussion rifle. The flow in this level was greatly effected by the monotonous corridors and the size of the level. This causes you to come across the same areas more than once in a single pass.
Final Comments:
This is an average level, and unless your a serious KFY’er, I can’t recommend the download simply because of the gameplay flaws that I’ve pointed out in this review.
