Welcome to the Massassi Temple submission instruction page. Please do not e-mail the staff with editing questions; use the message boards for that. We try to get everything posted and/or responded to within one week. If your submission hasn't been posted, and you haven't heard from us within one week, please email the staff (more on that at the bottom of the page). We reserve the right to quality-check all submissions.
Use the links below to find information on what you'd like to submit:
Questions/Comments/Problems:
If you have any general questions or comments about Massassi, or problems to report with the site, please e-mail staff -AT- massassi -DOT- net, and use a descriptive subject. Do not e-mail files or news with anything other than files and news, respectively. If you do, your e-mail will likely be deleted without being read.
News:
The news we post covers a broad range, but it's basically anything that's related to Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith. If you have any news whatsoever related to these topics, please submit it. We will NOT post classifieds/help wanted for editing groups. If your editing group wants to get into the news, post screenshots and provide some progress updates and we will post that. If you need members, feel free to post on the Discussion Board.
To submit news, please use the News Submission Form.
Tutorials:
Submitted tutorials remain copyrighted by the author first, and Massassi second. We have not, in the past, released our tutorials for posting on other sites. However, we may do this in the future, so when you submit a tutorial, please let us know if it is okay for us to release your tutorial to other sites for posting. Please submit tutorials in HTML format if possible. Include all images in web-ready graphics such as GIF or JPG. If you do not know HTML, but want to submit a tutorial, write it in plain text format (Notepad), and make arrangements for one of our staff to convert it. We reserve the right to edit for spelling, grammar, and formatting. We now format all tutorials to the Massassi format, but the formatting in the copy you originally submitted it in will remain intact in the ZIP we offer for download.
Send tutorial submissions to tutorials@massassi.net.
Articles:
Our articles section consists of articles written for our site, articles written for other
sites but re-post with consent (these re-posted articles reside locally on our server), and articles that we cannot re-post, but that we link to. If you have an editing or JK-related article you have written and would like to submit, please zip it with all the illustrations (if any). The article will be © Copyright you first, and Massassi second. Basically, it's your property, and we do not
attempt to take it from you. If at any time you wish your article to be taken down, it will be done. We do, however, reserve the right to edit for spelling, grammar, and formatting. If we do edit your article, we will NOT post it until our changes have met your approval.
Send article submissions to news@massassi.net.
Screenshot of the Day:
All the images we post as Screenshot of the Day (SotD, for short) come from our Showcase Forum. Create a new topic there and post your shots using the UBB's [img][/img] tags.
Artwork/Banners:
Feel free to submit artwork or banners at any time. We will not necessarily use them, but if
we like it, we usually find a place for it. We do not use artwork that looks stolen (or copied) from
other sites. We also like to keep our page loading fast, so if the banner is too big, we may not
even consider it (even if it's awesome, we just cannot forget the reason this site is here).
As always, the artwork belongs to you, and if you wish us to stop using it, we will.
Send artwork submissions to staff@massassi.net.
Levels and Mods for Jedi Knight / Mysteries of the Sith:
All levels and mods should be submitted in GOB format, and they should also come with the required readme file, as stipulated by LucasArts. We've a sample readme file you can download, modify and use: sample_readme.txt.
We will not post a level for JK that has MotS components in it. If we do post a level, under the impression that everything is fine, and later find out that it is not, we will take down the level, and no further levels from that author will be posted. Please, do NOT violate copyright laws by including MotS components in Jedi Knight.
Every submission should have the following:
All of this should be zipped together into one file. There are several archive programs out there that let you do this, the most popular being WinZip.
Attach this ZIP file to an e-mail whose body should have all the following information:
The description is especially important, as this is what people will read before they download what you've submitted. It should be at least a couple of sentences long, explaining what you were trying to accomplish. Stuff like "this is the best level ever created" isn't going to help you all that much.
Here is a small example for your viewing pleasure:
Subject: Level/Mod Submission for Massassi
Type: JK Multiplayer Level
Name: 5600 Block
Author: Brian Lozier
Email: files -ATSIGN- massassi.net
Description:
This is a small multiplayer level set on a remote and abandoned planet. It consists of 4 main buildings surrounding a pool of water. There is a tower coming up from the pool that is designed for saber dueling. This level is intended for 2-4 players. Being so small, this level should provide for some fast and furious gameplay.
If your submission doesn't comply with these instructions, we will not post it (unless we are feeling unusually generous that day, but don't count on it). If we don't post your level within one week, please go over these instructions again, and re-submit it with a very friendly reminder that we overlooked your level.
If you've read, understood and agreed to everything covered so far, then send your levels and mods to files -AT- massassi -DOT- net. We can't stress enough the fact that if you don't include everything we've requested, your submission will not get posted.
Update 02/11/2007: We don't get a lot of submissions anymore, so if you email us a file, we will probably not notice it. Please send a private message to "Brian" on the forums and I'll take care of it.
Maps and Modifications for Jedi Outcast:
Note: If you've submitted levels for JK to us before, then you'll notice there are only minor differences in what we ask for for JO maps.
All maps and mods should be submitted in PK3 format, and they should also come with the required readme file, as stipulated by LucasArts. We've a sample readme file you can download and use: sample_readme_jk2.txt.

Please zip your 3DO and screenshot together using Winzip. As always, a readme file is required by LEC - so make sure you create one with the wording required by the license agreement (available online). Some Last Words...
If your file/news don't appear on our site within a week, please email the staff. Please remember, we do NOT answer editing questions over email.
Please Note: Do NOT send attachments to the staff@massassi.net account. We have been having problems with our mailing list software lately. If you have an attachment, email the staff and provide a download address (on GeoCities or something), OR let us know that you have a file for us. We will then email you back and tell you who to send it to directly. We're sorry for this inconvenience.
