JED Bug Fixed - Slug
That strange error a lot of people were getting when closing JED, that Alexei identified yesterday as a side effect of leaks has been fixed according to this thread on's message board. For those who would like to check it out it located at: Its been out there for almost as long as the Glowsabers Mod but it been kinda hard to find it.
Looks impressive.
New JK Multiplayer Level: Skydive - Part 1 - Kedri
File: Skydive - Part 1
Author: DotF_Lightside
Screenshots: No Screenshots
Description: I have made a short, yet very sweet level, Skydive Part 1. This is a multiplayer level, good for 4-10 players. This level is supposed to be team oriented because of the size of the level, and you'll see what else I mean by that. This is Part 1 of 3 in the series. The level is HUGE (in height mostly) for only 25k; it even has an introduction when you start! You can play with 3 players and its still lots of mad carnage, at least when I beta-tested the old version. And even when you start you can never run out of ammo; there's enough for everyone...
Etc. - Brian
As you may have noticed, our voting script is less than ideal. It tracks IP addresses to block multiple votes. Unfortunately, 99% of people don't have a static IP address, so it allows you to vote each time you dial in to your ISP. I'm working on finding a better one... We're getting closer, at least this one didn't reset.

As a personal request, if anyone knows where I can get a complete zip/gob of all Al's skins/3do's, let me know (I just want to have them all installed, and rather than downloading all his packs individually, I'd like to have one big pack - if it doesn't exist, don't worry).
Battle Droid Page Updated - Brian
Lilguy let us know (on the forums that his Battle Droid Page has been updated.
JKBTG Extras Chat - Brian
Just a reminder, our hosted site, JKBTG Extras will be having a scheduled chat tonight. More info and a direct link to their chat room can be found on their chat page. Chatting will begin 8pm Central time.
Jed Bug Info - Brian
Aristotle from over at let me know that Alexei Novikov (programmer of Jed) has updated his plan file with some info on the bugs in Jed Ver. 0.94:
OK, people have been reporting problems with access violation on exit. It was hard to reproduce, but I finally got it. Sure enough, it turned out to be a side effect of getting rid of those memory leaks. Now some people said they've been getting this error during stitching, and not on exit. This can't be the same error. And this error I'm totally unable to reproduce. It's possible that it's specific to your level. So if anyone is getting it, please send your level (preferably small) to
Rebublic Cruiser 3do - Brian
Zymotico's Realm has posted a new Rebublic Cruiser 3do. You can download the full version from Zymotico's Realm, but here's a killer wireframe screenshot.

New JK MOD: Pipscol2 - Slug
File: Pipscol2
Author: The Mad Skinnner (formely known as The Skinning Pip)
Screenshots: No Screenshots
Description: This is a skin pack I have been working on for a while now, it has skins like Robocop, The Shadow, Blade and so on. I would have released it long ago but I have been busy with my real job. Any way, here it is finally, hope you all enjoy it.
Star Tours: Pod Racing - Brian
Non-JK, but I'm posting it anyway. I yanked this from Jedi Nights, who yanked it from, who yanked it from Disney. Anyway, it looks like they're modifying the aging Star Tours Ride (it rocks, I hate to see it go) in favor of an updated Pod Race version.
Apparently, all four star speeders will have a new destination: Tatooine. The new show will take you to the planet and the ever popular but treacherous pod racing. You will somehow get caught in a pod race and other pod racers will try to knock you off the track, and this time you finally do get to your destination.
Holocron Screens - Brian
After a while with bad logins on their new subdomain, Holocron Editing has posted two screenshots of their After Endor level. Go check out Holocron for the goods...

New MotS MOD: Double the BlasTechs - Kedri
File: Double the BlasTechs
Author: SavageX
Screenshots: No Screenshots
Description: This mod will now allow you to use two BlasTech pistols at once! In order to use two, you have to find a second BlasTech pistol. Here is how it works: when you only have one BlasTech, it will function like the MotS version. Once you received a second pistol, you can then fire them in two ways: Primary Fire makes you shoot each pistol separately (fires left, then right, then left, then right...) Secondary fire fires both pistols at the same time.
NOTE: Authors may NOT use this MOD in other MODS without written permission from the author. Keep this in mind -- I hate freeloaders!
Happy Birthday To TACC - Slug
Today marks the first birthday of The Admiral's Command Chamber. Here's a few words from Ryan, owner and operator of the site.
No news about reviews or levels today, but I just thought you guys would be interested to know that today (September 16th) marks the first birthday of the Command Chamber moving in at Jedi Nights. It's been quite a year for my first-ever website, with it growing from a small "SP experiment" to what we all know it as today. I'm very pleased with how the site has developed and evolved over the year, so if you want to post a little tidbit about this in the news, that would be great.
We congratulate Ryan on running such a great site for so long, and hope the future offers even more success.
Jed .94 Released - Brian
Stealh, of The Code Alliance ( let me know that Jed Version 0.94 has been released: [ Server] [ Server]. Once again I would like to thank the Code Alliance, and especially Alexei Novikov, for working so hard to give us these programs. Here's a list of what's new/changed:

  • Fixed bug that caused not being able to multiselect frames by holding Alt and dragging a rectangle over them.
  • Fixed a bug that created invalid adjoins when you cleave an adjoined surface and then undo it.
  • Fixed bug in undoing stitching.
  • You can now delete vertices of adjoined surfaces. But watch out - JED won't delete the corresponding vertex of the adjoined surface for you so you might end up creating an invalid adjoin.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused windows to appear outside of screen if you start JED after reducing screen resolution.
  • Eliminated a number of memory leaks
  • Now when you delete a COG in "Placed COG editor" the COG references to other COGs are updated.
  • Added "vertex merge" function - select duplicate vertices (vertices that are on the same spot) in vertex mode and press "M". You can't, of course, merge vertices of different sectors. JED does it for you anyway when you save to JKL.
  • Fixed a bug in edge cleaving that lead to incorrect undo (and possibly other things).
  • Now when you duplicate a COG in placed COG editor the cog values are also copied.
  • Vertex deleting now works on the multiselection.
  • Fixed a problem with textures jumping all over the place when trying to rotate them on some surfaces.

New MotS Multiplayer Level: MAXPORT - Slug
Author: JOTS_MAX & JOTS_Mango
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is the level that started the NF Guns craze in MotS. Basically a remake of the original "Spaceport" level, MAXPORT is meant for FF and NF Guns play. All seekers and carbonite have been removed, so the Concussion Rifle is now your best friend. Many secrets have also been added. Have fun, but first, make sure that you can shoot a gun.
New JED Soon - Slug
According to Alexei's plan, JED will be out later tonight or tomorrow. I think I speak for us all when I say, "YES!".
Level Contest Ends Today - Brian
One final reminder, if you are still working on a level, make sure to have it submitted by midnight tonight (no specific time zone, just make sure it's there when we wake up in the morning).
Blastech Screenshots - Brian

Wampa's Cave - Brian
The Jedi Knight Centre is now hosting The Wampa's Cave, a level review site. I would post the new url, but I can't seem to find it, so until we get official word, visit their old (but still good) site.
Episode 1 Preview Pack Released - Brian
Zy let me know that his site, The Realm of Zymotico, has released an Episode 1 preview pack. The pack includes all his 3do's thus far (Naboo N1-Starfighter, Trade Federation, Droid Fighter (flight mode), Trade Federation Droid Fighter (walk mode), Darth Maul's Recon/Probe Droid, Sith Speeder, Droideka Destroyer Droid), a small level to mess around in, some new skins (courtesy of AK_Slade), and the Sith Intercepter (courtesy of Matthew Pate). You can also download most of the 3do's directly from his page if you want to use them in your level.
Etc. - Brian
As you can see, we added a poll script on the main page. There is no real question yet (I'm trying to see if this one is more reliable than the last one, which re-set a few times when it was being used heavily). If you don't mind, please try the system out (trying to get as many users to vote as possible) - if you can find a way to vote more than once, please do that as well (if you don't have anything better to do). Anyway, we will have a real poll up within a couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled.

I know, the top of this page is getting pretty crowded. I don't know what I'm going to do about it, but all the stuff is pretty important. We're basically suffering from my decision to go with frames (which was done on March 27, 1998, the day we opened). I am considering moving the main page to a table layout. This wouldn't affect any other sections of the site, as when you click on a link (tutorials, downloads, etc), it would revert back to the framed page. Input is welcomed, e-mail me.

Aimed Weapons Mod - Slug
Got this email from MastaJedi, of the long comatose JKRPG Group..
I've always been kinda annoyed that the player always fires pistols and rifles exactly the same - from the hip. It's kinda unrealstic that these weapons would be fired the same, not to mention impractical, especially for the pistol. So I'm making a mod with animations that allow the player to fire normally, or to fire cool looking (IMO) and effective aimed shots. Here's a couple of screenshots to show what I mean. So far, animating the pistol is complete, and I have begun the animations for the stormtrooper rifle - which should look cool in sniper mode in MP games. I'm still debating whether I'm going to do special animations for the heavier weapons. Email me with any ideas of things to add to my "Aimed Weapons" mod.
He also wanted everyone to know that the JKRPG group isn't dead (Great news to me, the mod looked amazing).
