Fade to Black

The Massassi Temple » Files » Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level

Description:

This is a small white level with well placed lighting. It is great for both sabers and guns. The name and concept are both inspired by Metallica's song "Fade to Black".

If you have viewed the screenshots of this level, you have used as much bandwidth as downloading this level twice.

Well Ghost, had you downloaded the level, instead of just looking at the pictures like you are leading on about, you would notice that it is a small level and that it makes for good gameplay since there aren't a lot of custom textures or sounds and because it is small as stated.

Trige. I *Posted* the level. I had to check that it wasn't a corrupt zip/gob so I played it. I thought that it would make a nice duel level, but I thought it was amusing that it was so small.

Sorry Ghost, I just don't regularly see people joking about a level's size often, and I thought that you were bashing it. My bad.

Your intentions for the level are good, but the low ammount of textures, and the overal detail could of used some work. I give it a 5. Good Job

What Are You Talkin About " Well placed lighting"? it looks like you have no idea how to put in lighting.

Kyle_Darkfyre, if there is lighting at all in this level, then I am pretty sure that I know how to put in lighting. now then, any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism?

Ok, This is my Constructive Critisizm. The level is to small and inclosed, try and make it larger and more open. Lighting needs work, Try adding objects as sources instead of random placing of lighting (though it is a step up from other levels that have NO lighting). Add textures, I know you said that you did not want to slow it down, but trust me, It will be maybe a millisecond slower with textures and look 1000% better.

Guys, I realize that there is only 1 texture used in this level, and I wanted it that way. Please rate this according to what I've done and not what you would have wanted me to do.

Vegita is right, You have not done much. I did not rate it earlier, so ill do it now. Texturing is 50% of level makeing, lighting is 10% and Architecture is 40%. By this scale, the highest you could get would be a 5. I'd give your architecture a 6 (not the best Ive seen but better then some) you lighting 5 (same thing applies as architecture). and Texturing gets a 0 because non was done. so, out of 30 you get 11. percentage wise, 2.4 points for Architecture, and .5 for lighting. 2.9, Im giving you a 3.

"Texturing gets a 0 because non was done." -EAH Cogman

Actually, if I didn't texture the level, then there would be nothing but Dflt.mat's all over the level. And also in the main fighting room of the level, there is a design on the floor that was textured. So please don't go saying that a level isn't textured when it actually is...

omq i give it a....8.

It may only have a couple of bland textures, but that's the @$%@#%^ point! It was a nice concept, and if you've seen the author's other work, you realize that this isn't a result of a newb who doesn't know what to do, it was calculated.
