Here is beta 8.5b of the SS3 mod that was originally released eons ago but never here at Massassi. This is the Full mod, meaning that it includes both the mod and the levels that support it. This is meant for MP only so don't bother playing it in SP. I should warn you guys that this modis a bit larger than beta 9 so be sure to play this on broadband connections for better results.

SavageX	Posted: 01/31/03 04:46 Report Abuse There is quite bit of difference in this older version compared to beta 9. For starters, the mingun and the laser rifle are in this version and the pipebombs and hand grenades are "weapon items", meaning that you have to use hotkeys to select those weapons. Also, the models of the weapons are quite different (they're not very good looking compared to beta 9). Also, the VGUI system is in this mod, something that people missed from beta 9. -- SavageX Admin Only: Delete
gammasts	Posted: 01/31/03 13:56 Report Abuse This mod is one of the mods that I have played most often. I was glad that a newer version had come out because it must have been better than the first. I played a game of CE with this mod with Muurn and Shadow89 but when we attempted to kill the npcs, the main pistol was very uncontrolable. Unlike the un-full version, this one didn't have as much weapon controlablity. You might also want to add a few npcs with non-standard weapons, so it would be more of a challenge to obtain them. That would also offer a wider variety of npcs for level makers to use. I can't wait until the non-beta comes out, if you decide to finish it or keep it as a beta because you like to keep us in suspense for the next version. Rating: 10/10 Great Job Admin Only: Delete

SavageX	Posted: 01/31/03 17:13 Report Abuse gammasts, you probably haven't heard, but this mod is DEAD. I'm NEVER going to work on it again. I know this beta has bugs in it because it's old. Some of the bugs in beta 8.5 were fixed in beta 9. As for your NPC question, this mod is for MP use only, not SP so don't waste you time playing it in SP. -- SavageX Admin Only: Delete

SavageX	Posted: 02/04/03 04:59 Report Abuse The reason for the sounds glitch is probably because you're playing the mod in a user-made level. I highly recommend that everyone plays this mod ONLY with the SS3 levels or with the LEC levels. The same goes for beta 9. As for the VGUI, its the menu system that you first see when you enter the game. It's sort of like Half-Life's VGUI when you play mods like TFC and CS. You use the right mouse button to cycle the menu options and the left mouse button to select it. You can use this system to change teams and get server info and stats. The reason this system is not in beta 9 because it got messed up and didn't want to work for some odd reason so I removed it to save me the trouble of fixing it. -- SavageX Admin Only: Delete

Apparently people must love the Gatling gun and the laser rifle so much that they won't give Beta 9 a chance. Will I ever top beta 8.5? -- SavageX Admin Only: Delete
SavageX	Posted: 02/14/03 05:58 Report Abuse Yeah, that's a bug with the minigun. It sometimes doesn't give the player points for killing someone with it. I guess I should have noted that in the readme but forgot about it. Just use the other weapons for now until I resolve this in the next version. -- SavageX Admin Only: Delete

Nice Job Savage Very nice. its fun to play against AI also I know its intended for MP only but playing Sp wid it just amuses me heavily (thats one way its better than 9)it wont restart when you die if you haven't played this mod yet then you better!
