Also, some different shades of black and maybe some wear and tear on that spider suit would make him not only look more 3D, but also add a great deal to his visual appeal. To shed some light on the "non comic book nerds" out there: *The Spider-Man with the symbiotic-being/costume was in the comic books, just plane black and white, the blue-ish shades didn't come along until the suit possesed Eddie Brock, aka "The Venom". *If the suit ever showed teeth with spider-man, they were flat, kinda like horse teeth. Once again, the sharp teeth didn't come along until Venom, when they were also acompanied with a Gean Simmons tounge and green venom drool. *As to the point of him looking 2d-ish, it called "Cell Shading" - A 2d rendering of a 3d object. This was cell sheded by accident, because black objects are nothing but shade. *And lastly, if you read the comics, you know that the symbiote would regenerate destroyed tissue, so the only time the suit ever appeared tattered was when it adheired to him, or was being shredded off by fire or sonic blasts (The Bell Tower). 10/10 for dumb luck...If you don't do better next time, I won't be as forgiving.
