Goldeneye Military Archives: 16-bit version

The Massassi Temple » Levels/Mods » Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level » Goldeneye Military Archives: 16-bit version

Description

This level contains 16-bit mats! A 3D accelerator is required!! An 8-bit version is in the works... This is the well known level from Rare's Goldeneye N64 game. The level has all the guns in the original locations. To stay more true to Goldeneye and also raise tension, not very much protection is available. The lighting has also been improved from the Goldeneye level. Also, light sources have been added for more realism.

This level could have really benefited from some textures that look a bit more like the GoldenEye level. From the screenshots I didn't see any 3D0's in the little "cubicles"; I'm pretty sure there are some file cabinets, wooden crates, etc...

Frost-bitten, I used different textures because I felt that the textures from goldeneye were way to plain. Also, I used less 3dos because I wanted the level to work on all computers. Trust me, the framerate dropped to 7 with no 3d acceleration. I decided on no more 3do's. Trust me, the idea of more stuff more than once crossed my mind. As for the corrupt file, I'll check that out....

The file is corrupt for me too... but nice textures, they look more realistic than the ones in GoldenEye.

not to um challenge your intelligence..but um you say you removed 3dos for framerates purposes because some people wouldn't have 3d acceration...
..you see there is one problem with this concept you need 3d accelleration to play it with 16 bit mats..just a little thing you should note.

The framerate isn't going to go from 7 to tolerable because you have 3d aceleration, warped. I believe he noted the FR without 3DXL to eliminate variables. I say those textures are refreshing and contrast better than the James Bond: GE ones. That level was hell to look at- smart thinking. A little cramped for a Concussion Rifle though.

This is a good level. The mats are quite good, and the architecture is very similar to Goldeneye's. I think the lighting in some areas is a little dark though. The flashlight things are quite cool, but the one in the basement has hom in the white bright part. The door cog acts weird if you press the door twice when its open. But overall this is a nice level. I'll put this on the recommended levels list at my GoldenEye mod website! :) http://goldeneyemod.tripod.com

I give you a 9. I like this level alot, i'm hoping to convince my either my dad or sister to play it with me. The reason i didn't give it a 10 is because the level was boxy (j/k i know it's supposed to be like that) because it was too dark in some places, and the homming on the flashlight. otherwise, i really liked it, lots of rooms to hide in.

I agree this level didn't have enough Objects in it. I know the Archives level in 007 didn't have anything else but what you put in there but it woulda looked nice instead of bare rooms. I found the framerate to be pretty poor. And i don't think i've ever seen Fans turn that fast before. Also the flashlights were a neat idea although i found in 3rd person view you and all other 3do's behind the flashlights dissapear, if this is intentional then i guess good job. Still I think its a keeper.

I give it a 7.

The textures complimented the level itself very well. The lighting also gave it that "cramped office" look.
And for the layout, it was good, but it could have been better.
