The tiny planetary system of Freedma has long been known for its sophisticated weapon designs. Now a deadly rumor is racing throughout the galaxy at the speed of hyper-drive.They have succeeded in designing a weapon capable of the destruction of an entire star system. Freedma's top military research facility has already been besieged by agents from every star system that ever dreamed of galatic conquest. Now events have taken an even darker turn: the regional governor has dispatched a brigade of Imperial forces to Freedma under the pretense of "keeping the peace."Screenshots:

|FirestormTF||Posted: 09/14/01 02:37 Report AbuseI gave it an 8.
WEll basically story wise its about well dull but who really cares about the story im more of a gameplay guy myself.
This level shines and doesn't have the fancy eyecandy and such in fact no new textures same old ship textures and the architexture is basically boxy throughout the level. Though there are some great colors and flashes in the level so its not completely dull.
no new sounds or such except for the voice acting, which though needed some more effects (sounded like a 12 year old girl was doing the voice over) as well as more rehersing for a cleaner sound. Of course i would rather get strange voice acting then non what so ever.
This is where the level makes up for everything. It goes to basics right here, by doing the simple labrynth fomula. Find a key or disable a force field then run a guantlet of baddguys the rooms to destroy the outlets and such. This goes back to old-school like gaming in fact all the way back to old Adventure games on the NES, in fact it could have really been like a NES game if they added more platforming but there isn't (no platforming at all). Its a simple one man army attacks dozens of storm troopers but they threw in some other types of enemies to keep you busy like remotes and 2 modified enemies. 1 being a floating platform that acts like a remote only shooting really powerful bolts and blasters don't hurt it. The 2nd one was a droid that dropped mines, sure they didn't use knew models for the enemies but i don't really think they needed too.
This is action packed all the way and it took me about 45 minutes to beat, its a nice romp and im looking foward to the next. I just hope they make the AI a little tougher or beef up the weapons a bit, i found this a bit on the easy side as well as get rid of most of the powerups there were just way too many shield power-ups making the level even easier.
|Dice_Ibegon||Posted: 09/15/01 00:54 Report AbuseGJ! It probably took you months and months to do that level, it was well-done and blablabla :) Nice Job Jedi hehe|
|_SL_Kyle||Posted: 09/15/01 18:04 Report AbuseThis lvl rocks. I know this was made with Jkedit. So for the people who think jkedit is a useless program try this lvl.|
|dimi30||Posted: 09/24/01 16:40 Report AbuseWow great level!And also as the last guy saied it proves Jkedit can do great lvls(though I never thought that Jkedit is a useless program and I was always thinking that Jed and Jkedit can do the same things it just depends on the creator).Nice job!|
|Gee_4ce||Posted: 12/21/01 18:48 Report AbuseHOW did this level get such a high score? If I wanted labrynthine levels I'd go play Wolfenstein 3D. These days people are looking for eye-candy and good design. Don't get me wrong, this level had some good moments, but its stay on my hard drive ended as soon as the credits rolled. I'm never normally this harsh, but I was expecting great things from this level, what with the score and all, but I have to say I was not that impressed.
P.S. WHO is that doing the voice acting, you can barely hear it?
|Wooglin||Posted: 01/13/02 21:56 Report AbuseI liked the level and it definately had lot's of folks to kill. My only problem was with the big gun. Everytime I blew up the tie-bomber, it wouldn't let out of the big gun viewer (thus I had to restart). If I didn't shoot the tie-bomber, it would let me out. I wonder if anyone else had this problem or just me. Otherwise, very good!|
|pulchritude||Posted: 10/03/02 11:18 Report AbuseExcellent level. I really enjoyed it. lots of action, no really hard puzzles to bore you, just good action and a little puzzling parts.
lots of fun, well done
|Connemara||Posted: 11/03/03 17:28 Report AbuseOk, question- I've deactivated the forcefield around the core thingy, how do I now get into the core to extract the rod or whatever? |
