Remnants of the Empire 3: Desert of Tatooine

The Massassi Temple » Levels/Mods » Jedi Knight Single Player Level » Remnants of the Empire 3: Desert of Tatooine

Here is the third installment in the RotE series. This level takes place on Tatooine, where the detention center that is holding Raul McMaw is located. However, some Imperial Ties shot down the Crow while heading for the base and now Kyle must reach Mos Elasie on foot, where Jan will meet him after she repairs the Crow. This level has a subplot so you have to play it to see what adventure Kyle must go on in order to get to Mos Elasie.

This level is pretty dull. The second one was OK but everything else was kinda long and boring.~Weird Al Yankovic

I love this series, the 3rd level was the worst. but download this one instead of the other two, it has the whole series in.

The Hoth level, level 2 was very cool, and the best in my opinion, the architecture was very LEC-like and the Assault Cannon and Mandalorian rifle weapons were good. If you have MotS, check out Jake McHnery and Leeza's Destiny, two other excellent level packs from the same author.

This series is awesome (I'll be commenting on all 3 since they all came in the single download) Great architecture and plot! The only real problem was in Hoth, after I killed the kell dragon neear that big drill, the door wouldn't open! I spent hours trying to find whatever I missed but ended up just cheating to skip to the next level. I'll feel like an idiot if there was a switch nearby or something, maybe I didn't look hard enough. But apart from that, Great levels I'm looking forward to a 4th!!!

I like it but, at Tatooine, when you go look for the lost kid, i fell in somekind of water with Tie's and some other vehicles in it and i couldn't get out!!! Is it a error in the level or is therea way out?

I Must say, one of the best SP levels to come out in a looooong time.

I haven't downloaded the level yet, but because of how everyone has reacted to the series, plus the screenshots, I have been convinced this will be the best SP level I download. Maybe if people stopped making such poorly constructed levels! I've said enough. Bacca.

I thought this level was slightly worse than RotE 2, only because the landscaping was not done as good as its prequel. In addition, the little boy reminds us of Luke Skywalker and is extremely annoying. When I first saw him, I felt like shooting him. I give this level a 7.

I like this level, but it would be best if i had known that rote 1 and 2 were just the first versions of it. If you download this you wil get the 3 levels. Other than that i really liked this level, it has very good cutseens, and the snowtroopers are cool!

Great level! Second one was the best. The only complaint I have is that the path from the kid back to the parents is a bit too long. It would have been fun if there were some things to do on the way, but there were only a few enemies, and they were clustered together. The ending doesn't really seem complete, so I'm guessing there will be at least one more installment. Looking forward to it! :)

WOW MAN, youre the better editor I ever seen, these 3 levels were very good. I think there was 5 new skins or more, so cool. Everything was perfect 100%

Excellent level. The mandalorian rifle is great. Also the base on hoth is terrific.

look i havent downloaded any of these series levels but when you see the name Savage X, the name says it all. He's the best. Just take SS# for example. Now how good is that?
It just simply kick's ass. Savage X rocks!

Wow, very very cool. One of the best SP packs available. Incredible architecture, great puzzles, awesome enemies and the new weapons are very cool. As good as the best LEC levels, and better than several.

The hoth base mission was mind-blowing, especially the bunkers and the shuttle lifting off... that really had an excellent feel.

The author also used the game's sounds quite creatively, my favorite being the "Crunch--AARGH!" of the kell dragon eating troopers. :D

The only reason I gave it a 9 rather than a 10 was I couldn't figure out how to get past the door after the kell dragon (used thereisnotry), and corny dialog and some spelling/grammar errors in part 3, as well as part 3 being a bit short.

My two favorite packs for JK are Search for Leia and this one, and I believe this one is a little better than SOL, because of the superior architecture and more puzzles.

I have played the first two levels and I'm downloading this one now. Hmm...Well the second level was lot better than the first one except that those snowtroopers looked little unfinished (I mean their cloak that was totally straight and other little things). As overall rating I give 8.

I thought all three were very well done (certainly better than other single player levels out there). The problems people have already mentioned are significant ones.

-The strange water substance under the TIE fighters weighs you down somehow if you fall in, preventing you from getting out. There are two things you can do:
a)Don't fall in.
b}If you fall in, press "T" and type in "eriamjh" to enable flying. This won't get you out by itself, but you have to have it on. Now pull out a Rail Detonator (if you don't have one, press "T" again and type in "red5" to get all weapons). Point it downward (so that you are facing the floor) and fire. It should catapult you up, and the flying mode should keep you up. If you accidentally fly yourself back into the water, smack yourself in the face and repeat the process.

-For a kid (teenager, whatever), he can't run very fast when you are bringing him home. Either give him a little more "oomph" to his lope, or set him closer to the Stormtrooper outpost/force field so that you don't have to run back and wait twenty minutes for him to catch up.

Otherwise, it was a great level. Now I want to see "Mos Eisley", so get to work.

Ok.Ill be strait forward with this lvl.It was great, great storyline and everything.Made you wanna play more. The reason it got a 4 from me because of all the bugs in it.For example, when u pass the first mission and Kyle says,"Theres got to be a way to make another living".Now theres a little area with bacta tanks and stuff when u climb the boxes and jump over toward the goods. When u pick them up it boots you to desktop.Another example is that when you get to the glass part with the 3 stormies,if you save where the stormies were(before you killed them),and die,it will crash, and when you come back it says cannot load lvl.Last time I even attempt to play this lvl again, didnt even finish it.

Great level packs, alright... I've played them all many times just to enjoy great gaming... I like the way author does outdoor-levels, but I think 2nd level was the greatest...

This is very cool levels... i liked tatooine the most hehe it was a cool canyon well it was lacking of enemies but sht happends..

on the hoth level when i had completed the mission to find the signal thing and talked to the droid i was supose to find the paradrop area? i never did i went threw that river and so.. and then i came back i went on a bit but then i thought hmm i think i might have missed it... but the probably most annoying thing was how slow that farmer boy was... i mean i coulda run and killed all enemies and deactivate the force field before he had reached 50 meters allmost... other then that will there be a 4? there gotta be a 4 sinse it ended quite odd i gave this an 9 allso.

I gave this 8/10. I like levels which have storylines and not just mindless kill-fests. Shooter levels can be fun for challenge but Star Wars wasn't really about shooters. It is popular because of the story and the immersive environment George Lucas created. Levels with atmosphere and depth add to the growing Star Wars Saga. It would be nice to see more Tatooine-placed levels (especially Mos Eisley).
