Woot! This is one Very creative mod. Bout time someone made an alternative for the sabers once in a while, however sabers are still really really cool. Very awesome Katana model BTW. Excellent Mode dude! I LOVE IT!!!! 10/10

The reaso nI give this an 8 is because it rocks...but the enemies do not us ethe katana. Only you do, so please update this mod (I use it in singlep, so) so the reborn/jedi/shadowtrooper/dessan/tavion/ect.

Since I have e-mailed him about the big Katana mess up (read earlier post of mine) and hos address is not wokring for some reason, I hope he reads my post, because he needs to fix that.

I have to be honest, I really didn't like this that much.

Too long for a katana, more of a No-Dachi with a scimitar(samshir) hilt.

DOn't like the way it's held. Might not be your fault, but the curve shouldn't be angle to either side, should be held straight. The curve is also a little too pronounced.

ANyways, that's my opinion. Think it'll be cool with a little work.

Gave it a three for originality.

To me, it's just a sword (although, not quite a katana), but it looks pretty good in JO... even when you throw it. It's about time there was a lightsaber replacement that wasn't a modified saber.

The most Awesome thing I have ever seen! perfect 10. Maybe in your next release (if there is one) you can smooth it out some, make it look even more realistic, and get rid of the glow... oh and make enemys on single player beable to use it to... other then that... its the coolest thing I have ever seen since sliced bread!

Jubie_AM I remeberRPGing wiht u in zone on JK1 why cant ur comp run it... maybe it is time for u to get a new one... J/k ne way this mod is fairly good... using the katana hilt that was on jedi-outcast.com makes it look better but has som errors to it... i gave it an 8 because it is good but needs to be a bit shorter and needs a diff handel, other wise good start on a good idea!

The whole premise is very good, and the katana is by far my favorite sword. You got the general idea down pretty well, but the model is innacurate in several ways. A katana doesn't curve quite that much, and the ball at the end of the handle doesn't look right. Make the blade a tad more straight and take the ball of, and you'll have one fantastic katana model.

The hilt is fine. Edo-Katanas are sized at the hilt exactly like that. They are supposed to be long. Thats the way they where 900 years ago.

The blade though, is funked. It is much much much too short. On most Katana's the hilt measures about 12 inches, and the blade measures about 3.5-4 feet.

Also, remember, the Katana is a 2 handed weapon, it would be very very difficult to use with one hand. And all the swings consist of going over the head and cumming straight down with an attack to the opponents head. This is the propper method as described by the Kendo Federations of Japan and America.

If you are looking for more of a "ninja" style, use a Wakizashi or a Tanto as a base. Those are both 1 handed weapons that are very agile.

Now that I look again, I notice the hilt has a ball at the end of it. Now thats not right, get rid of that and your hilt will look good.

It's a good mod. The blade does look alittle funky at times though. My biggest thing is the sounds. The sound nothing like any sword that I know of. If you realease another on PLEASE get some bettter sounds.

PLEASE Ages, release another one! This mod rocks, but make the enemies use it too, and remove the balls (thinks distrubing thoughts) And, well, I don't care too much for the accuratness, I think its cool cause it's a non- Lightsaber Mod that goes well with some other mods (like the Quake III Arena blood patch...now there it actually seems like blood belongs!)...and its a sword man! it's so cool! but try to make it more accurate cause that's what most people want I suppose. JUST PLEASE release a new one! We love you Ages...NO! not that way...as in we like your stuff...no I do not want to make out with you! ( take no offense. this is how I talk alot...in a sense...okay just ignore this part....)

The mod is very well done, and I give it a 9 over 10. I've made the mod that a lot of you have requested and I'm still waiting the guy that would put my file into the filebase to put it. I someone wants it, please e-mail me at awacs_pepe@hotmail.com.

Fighting with katanas rocks and make Desann into pieces with a katana is the best experience I've had.
