Toggle Dual

The Massassi Temple » Files » Jedi Outcast Mod

Description:

This mod disables the requirement of cheats being enabled in multiplayer to use the dual saber. What makes this mod unique is it is the first (to my knowledge) to employ a toggleable scheme.

duel saber... there are other mods that do that that i've seen... i've not rated it yet...

He means you can toggle on/off, that is, (say b is the key to turn it on), you can press b once to turn the staff on and b again to turn it off.

nice idea, but others have already made it...also, stop mkaing Double blade multi mods. make double blade sungles player mods! And make it so it has it's own style, so the blade does nto go through your stomach (ouch!)

EmonPosted: 06/16/02 04:37   Report Abuse
That's not possible for SP, GeistSoldat, and it never will be, sadly.

This is an incredible start! The other mods only grant usage of the duel blade without using cheats...this not only does that, but allows you to toggle.

And-true,GeistSoldat, this does not correct the obvious blade problems...it is a step in the right direction. Don't expect things to happen too quickly. Remember how long it took for the lightstaff to be corrected in Jedi Knight? Give it time! It'll happen.

Hey, just letting everyone know I'm already working on version 2 (pathetic, eh? lol). The updated version will have a much "nicer" way of switching between normal and dual.

Why will there never be one for SP ?

I like the idea of toggleable dual blade, but i am getting tired of it. I think some one should make a MOD so you can use 2 lightsabers like Anakin in EP 2 or like Boc in Dark Forces 2.

by the way, it's "begun, the clone war has." yoda only says "this clone war" in the trailer.

Why is it "impossible" to make a single player double saber? IT isn't. It can be like implementing pretty uch anything. I do not support your low confidence... What is the lightstaff? And some people form hte Kaliburr Saga mod are making the use of dual sabers, styles for the double saber, and so on...so if u can do that for multi, why not single? tell me why it is impossible, then I shall believe you...

PommyPosted: 06/16/02 20:01   Report Abuse
It's impossible because

1) It's not implemented into SP right now
2) They will never release the SP source so you can't edit things like that in SP.

Also, you can't have two sabers like Anakin did in AotC, neither can you have new animations for the lightstaff, just because that would take hundreds of new animations and the only tool out (so far) that can create animations for JO costs (correct me if I'm wrong) $15,000.

[edit: Oh yeah, lightstaff = other term for double-bladed saber]

GeistSoldatPosted: 06/16/02 23:07   Report Abuse
They can't have dual sabers eh? Check htis site out, http://www.kaiburrsaga.com/ and find out how wrong you are...well, no screeenies yet, but thye haven't said they can't...and who says Raven will never release the source code?

You just proved yourself wrong, that mod is for MP.

GeistSoldatPosted: 06/16/02 23:21   Report Abuse

It seems with me that every time I swing, my guy should lose a lot more than his legs. Like the guy above me, I have no idea where to type that.

There's a much easier way, I forgot to include this in the readme. When you
launch JK2 MP, go to setup and under the mods section you can load it. Then
just create a game.

dual sabers are possible in sp through source code, we just have to find out what's diff't in the jka and jk2 saber source code, that's all.
