This is a medium single player level for MOTS.I made this because
I like swamp levels and I like setting up traps (he he he). There
are 3 secret areas in this level (good luck in finding them; they
are well hidden). There are fish in the water, so when fighting in
the water take aim carefully, or you will have fried tuna fish on
your hands. This level is medium in difficulty for me, so keep three
things in mind:

|Weedo||Posted: 10/27/02 11:56 Report AbuseThis is a great level! I love the fish in the water. I'm working on adding fish to my level, and when you kill 'em, you can eat 'em for 5 extra heath. The architecture was wonderful. This level is perfect proof that you don't need JED to makle a high quality level.
May JKEDIT live on forever!

I've been working away with JED for a year now and I still can't make archi that nice, though I'm ok with 3dos.

Architecturally speaking, this is pretty average. While not a box-fest, it is more or less a bunch of rooms and hallways connected together in an unconvincing manner. On top of that, the tree canopies and pools are all surface divides with no extrusion involved... There's no depth to separate them from the ground or sky, which makes things look flat and weird.
Thematically, I have to wonder whether this is even the same planet we see at the end of MotS. It's too bright to be a swamp, especially a swamp on a world as dark and evil as Dromund Kaas. The little fishies in the water were a nice touch, and used properly they can spruce up the typically lifeless water environments found in MotS... But they just seem out of place in this level. Fewer fish and darker environments would have sold the effect better here.
There were also a few problems with the map design. Apart from the areas being too incongruent, the 3do LOD distances were set way too low. Enemies were changing LODs right before my eyes and they couldn't have been more than 8 feet away.
There's also a small Sith area here, and it doesn't feel very evil at all. It's just another purple room with a few statues.
In all, this is really just an average MotS level that never really bothers to pull you in. It's not bad, but it definitely could have been better.
