Atom's Hyperbolic Time Chamber

The Massassi Temple » Levels/Mods » Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level » Atom's Hyperbolic Time Chamber

Description

This is a decently large level, based on the Hyperbolic Time Chamber from DBZ. This level was intended for use with TDIR(DBZ 4.0), but has a few hidden guns, so it can be used without mods. Enjoy the transporter switches (which incidently, may have to be hit more than once to work). I hope you enjoy my level.

This isnt the best i've seen, but is decent... i only play JO now, but to see someone make a hyperbolic time chamber *finally*, brings me happiness... could be a bit better with detail, but other than that, i like it. OH and are the boundries infinite??

The level itself doesn't seem to amazing, but trust me, if you knew the secret places, you would love it. Im a friend of Atoms, and he showed me the secret spots, and...Wow! If you could just see his lair, you would love it, but I am not at liablity to state the location of this location, but email atom, maybe you'll get some luck out of him...Keep em' comin' atom!

Atom, what can I say, but good job ;) I've seen this level from scratch and he's really added a lot of stuff to it. Blade, try to find the hidden chambers/secrets scattered in the level. Appearances are not what they seem ;) One thing is that the teleporters really need to be fixed. But hey, it's still fun. The boundaries are not infinite. That would really suck for playin online :/ And i am not allowed to tell you the location of the secret room. Takes trial and error ;) Have fun playin this level people.

It's an eyesore. Yea the level itself may be neat, but whats the point when you get a headache 10 minutes into it? It the worst use of LEC textures I've seen to date.

Oh, btw, it looks like anyone viewing/posting to this has no idea about http://tdir.hellraiser64.com

Might wanna realise there is no 4.0

Not the best level I've seen for JK, but certainly not the worst. Very tough concept to bring to life, but in the end, it does work. I give it a 7.

Seriously people. Level making isn't easy at all, and with all his custom 3do's in that level, it probably wasn't easy, so lighten up...

Eh... Believe it or not but those were VERY USEFULL comments given... So what are you all "ooh, lighten up"-ing? Take the (specially the negative) comments for granted, it'll help you making your next level better.
Specially take note on DSettahr's comment on your other level and try to keep those things in mind when you build your next level.
It's called feedback.

The custom 3do's look nice, but texturing really needs work. So does architecture, most is pretty blocky.

Feh! I was speaking about Hellraisers comment. All he wants to do is put out his website. What he said was not "Constructive Criticism". It was more like, "You Suck At Level-making, and hey look at my website!"

A) LEC textures completly sucked in this level. THAT alone was enough constructive critism to cover anymore comments to come. Had you went to 4th grade and learned how to read and fully understand english, you would have known that. The level itself is ok, but the texturing is abominable. I'm not gonna candy coat it as that will just make the author feel like thats the best he can do, which it's not. This level would have been better off being showcased before posted, that way people could have provided feedback. This is the common mistake of many new editors. They'll release their first works (which really suck when *anyone* starts something new for the first time) and wonder why they get so many negative remarks about it when it's "only their first level/model/texture/what have you."

B) I'm "putting out my website" because the author of the level mentions DBZ4.0, an illegally obtained and widely distributed beta of TDiR, and there's lots of confusion around people such as yourself that it is the final product, which it is not. Just trying to point people in the right direction.

...At least we have guidance...negative feedback is far more helpful than negative feedback. "Candy-Coated" feedback, as you call it, does nothing more than make beginners think that their levels are fine the way they are.(even if they suck.) I accept criticism humbly and am open to more, if there is more to be offered.

Your name definately fits your personalitiy. Look, I am not saying to act like, "Well, it was okay, but you could have made it better." But your version of "constructive criticism" is just plain rude. If you know so much about level-making, why don't you tell him HOW he could make it better? Rather than be an A-hole about it. I can understand why you would give negative feedback to a level that isn't very well made, but how do you expect the author to get any better if you be such a sadistic prick about it? Second, your little childish attitude is quite annoying, so go back and do your homework. (Remember, your favorite cartoons are coming on Toonami tonight!)

And I'M the one with the childish attitude? A-hole? Sadistic prick? Go back and do my homework? My favorite cartoons are on toonami tonight? Sounds like you're the one with a childish attitude. I'll have you know I'm 19, have a job, pay my bills and live on my own. (for what it's worth anyway. like you could really care) Anyway, this isn't a forum thread, it's a comment system. HOW atom could have made this level better was obviously stated. "Don't use LEC textures" It's just THAT simple. Nobody was saying what was wrong with the level, so I took it upon myself to point it out the major flaw. I have nothing else to say about it. I admit, my intial comment could be perceived as "rude" but it had to be done to counteract the so far "wow this is awesome" praise. It still conveys the same point I've been making all along: custom materials would have been a whole lot better than LEC textures.

- Texturing is pretty bad. Sorry, but it is.

- Tough concept to bring about? Not really sure what that means, but TDIR has a pretty nice version of it.

- If you think Hell Raiser's comments were "mean" or whatever, you're going to be in for a pretty big shock if you start posting more work. I've seen plenty of people get a lot more flak than just being told that LEC textures suck.

You guys *are* aware that Hell Raiser is the one and only coder for the DBZ:TDiR mod, right?

The mod only works with TDiR levels, and the tutorials to make a level work with TDiR aren't out yet, so this level won't work anyway.

If you guys keep yelling at him, don't be surprised if he specifically codes TDiR to *NOT* work in your little DFLT box.

I agree with Hell Raiser, if you want to increase the rating of this level...LOSE the LEC textures and make your own. LEC textures just do NOT fit the Hyperbolic time chamber. There was quite a bit of LED in the level too...redo the level with custom textures and more testing...don't just PLAY the level...try to break it.

Man, this place has become a GSA Chat Room. Okay, I apologize for my initial reaction. I am not a DBZ watcher (or do I know anything about DBZ or TDiR) but please don't be so rude when rating levels. No matter how bad they may be, the author still put time into them, so keep it to constructive criticism, like it says, and we will all get along better.
