Drops of water echo in this deserted building. Two bases lie opposite each other, seperated by a great abyss. In the center of these bases, surrounded by a maze of corridoors and an array of traps, the flags are hidden. Your task is simple; grab the flag then get out alive.Screenshots:

Wow GoY, looks great. Excellent work.
|Corran2015||Posted: 01/26/03 01:01 Report AbuseIts got architecture that has been outdone, although any lacking in the achitecture is made up with the texturing. Man, this is a good level.|
|GhostOfYoda||Posted: 01/26/03 02:29 Report AbuseI think I forgot to mention in the readme, but Shadow89 was also a good beta tester.|
|funnierbone||Posted: 01/26/03 02:31 Report AbuseGreat textures, it is a great level. |
|saberopus||Posted: 01/26/03 02:51 Report Abuseugliest. level. ever.
it's all rusted and dirty looking!
Looks awesome, can't wait to play it.

great job...I like the textures used.
|landfish||Posted: 01/26/03 17:48 Report Abusei played with GoY in #massgames with this level and i must say that it is a very fun level, lots of traps and very rusty atmosphere|
|Pommy||Posted: 01/27/03 06:49 Report AbuseIndeed. I beta tested as well, and I think it's a wonderful JK CTF level, one of the rare gems.
|myn_skyhopper||Posted: 01/27/03 16:10 Report Abusewell i beta tested it when it was first stage and second to last so i'm going to shut up about the secrets :D but i can't wait to try it with people on end stage with SBX's FORCE PUSH muhahahahaha|
|DSettahr||Posted: 01/28/03 22:53 Report AbuseHmm I can't seem to download it... it can't find the file.|
|DSettahr||Posted: 01/29/03 00:12 Report AbuseOver all, a very good level. The author obviously put a lot of time and effort into this. I did notice a few things however:
- The textures were somewhat repetetive. While not a huge factor, a little more variation would have been nice.
- The level is huge, and gameplay would probably be at its best with at least 10-12+ players.
- It seemed to me that the Red Flag was a lot easier to capture than the gold flag. I had alot more trouble figuring out just how to get back into the gold base than I did finding the red flag.
Very good level though. Hopefully we will see an entry buy this author in the upcoming Massgames Level Contest. :)
|ReAcToR||Posted: 01/29/03 14:33 Report AbuseI can't understand why everyone compliments repetitive texturing if it's done in 16-bit, but they blast it if it's done in 8-bit. Repetitive is repetitive, and that's what we see here.
The main problem with the level for anyone who plays CTF seriously, would be the amount of glitches. Either the people who beta-tested the level were amateur or the author didn't/couldn't fix the glitches that they revealed. Being able to climb pillars and walk on the sky is a VERY significant glitch when it comes to gameplay...and that's why people play CTF...for the gameplay.
There are alot of good ideas and nice architecture implemented here, but the bad texturing and multitude of glitches will keep any serious CTFer from playing this level.
My rating = 6. The authors previous CTF level (Rusty CTF) had the same type of glitches. I would recommend that if he's to release anymore CTF levels, that he let CTFers do the beta-testing (www.nds.cjb.net or www.teamfusion.org).

Well, this CTF level was made for the less "heavy" CTF players. My beta testers were playing just for fun, not to really debug anything but the obvious.
I noticed the sky bug before, and I had a solution (a grate accross the top of the bridge), but it looked really ugly and under reccomendation of others, I removed it, but forgot to put the invisible wall back in :S.
|ReAcToR||Posted: 01/30/03 15:26 Report AbuseThat being said...I think that you have the skills to do a CTF level that even the hardcore CTFers would enjoy...it would be nice to see one. :)
The JK CTF community is making a comeback and many of the players who left to play games like JO are slowly returning.
|GhostOfYoda||Posted: 01/30/03 16:02 Report AbuseI have two CTF maps in concept stage (doodled on the back of a french book, actually), and when I make them, I'll be sure to run them though the hardcore CTF community, and iron out the bugs. These maps will be symetrical, as I find it hard to make balanced unsymetrical maps.
If necessary, I will remake both of the RCTFs with some balancing modifiers and bug fixes, and release them together with my newer CTF levels.
All my scheming CTF plans won't be started, however, until the MassGames Level Contest is over.

|Force master2||Posted: 02/01/03 11:30 Report AbuseI liked the last one, but this rocks (make mini CTF2 as well, please)|
|Darth_Dk2||Posted: 02/01/03 18:57 Report AbuseYes y?|
|GhostOfYoda||Posted: 02/01/03 19:00 Report AbuseBecause instead of lowering my level's overall score by a small amount, you lowered it by a large amount.|
|Gee_4ce||Posted: 02/01/03 19:29 Report AbuseGoYness all in one file - marvellous!|
