The Massassi Temple » Files » Jedi Knight Single Player Level
This level's name is P.O.D. You've crashed in to this huge ship. You have to fight your way to the end of the level to try to get to a escape ship. At the moment, this is a demo but I will make the full version soon.Screenshots:
|jEDIkIRBY||Posted: 02/12/03 20:18 Report AbuseYes ladies and gentlemen, boxes, in every size, included are textures, not just any textures, but 5 textures!
Enemy placment wasn't all that bad, but this must be one of your first levels, because the archi isn't something to die for. The level still works, and the concept is nice, can't wait to see what else you'll achieve.
|dodgerfreak2||Posted: 02/12/03 22:12 Report AbusePick that Pitchfork Up!
Darkstrike proves that JediKnight is dead.
|Trigger Happy Chewie||Posted: 02/13/03 00:03 Report AbuseThats not very nice, but it boxes with textures and npc's, i will not rate until I download!|
|Daft_Vader||Posted: 02/13/03 00:30 Report AbuseI have to say, even though I don't believe in pummeling people about their levels, this IS pretty bad. I don't even think their's an ending or anywhere really to go. There are just a few rooms, unless there's some completeely hidden area or exit out of the dull monotony you're initially placed into, it's basically only about a couple hundred feet in diameter (the whole level!) I could sympathize if there was actualy a level and an ending, but it being a bad, short level with no method of completion... it doesn't look good. I'll be generous and give it a six, but please, the author of this, ji=ust work with JED a bit longer dont give up. The idiot who said JK is dead is wrong, its up to people like you and I the ressurect the fine art of Jk SP level making. I'm sure the general public would approve! :-)
You have promise, keep at it! Andlook out for my level sometime in the future.
|Sylvicolus||Posted: 02/13/03 00:59 Report AbuseYes, JK and MOTS are not dead. But please don't release a level before it is finished. If you want feedback before hand then have several people test it out. Play lots of levels to see what JED is capable of, and practice, practice, practice. :)|
|DSettahr||Posted: 02/13/03 18:22 Report AbuseAnyone who thinks JK is dead has obviously not yet visited #massgames... :P|
|Trigger Happy Chewie||Posted: 02/13/03 22:56 Report Abuse3 rooms???? 3!!!!!??? Thats it?? The textures were repetative, it was one texture per room!! The coolest thing I saw was a moving sky?? The rooms were just boxes. If this is supposed to be one a big ship, why can you look up and see the sky?? Did you ship crash right through the roof??!?! |
|THU_Bloodinator||Posted: 02/14/03 00:12 Report AbuseIt's nice to see that there are still people who are starting to make levels. And I'm sure that all of our first levels were boxes, too. And the fool who said that JK is dead needs to get a life one of these days. I give it a 5 because he had the guts to post it and put some effort into it.|
|THU_Bloodinator||Posted: 02/14/03 00:26 Report AbuseI ask what is the main goal of this level? And try to give the sky 204 flags instead of 200 because it gives u a very bad H.O.M. if you use the fly mode cheat :). So keep it up even though you may not get the best comments.|
|Eric_Lightheart||Posted: 02/16/03 04:19 Report Abuseto dodgerfreak2,
JK is NOT dead, and mod/level makers like Spiral and Sith_lord prove it, so stick it in your ear.
|Nomadžoul||Posted: 02/23/03 03:31 Report AbuseWell now..plot is a little general...but so is the level..keeping in mind that it's a demo I don't think that's wrong. I't actually better that you released this as a demo so you could get a reaction to it before you released the full level. A few things..room design was pretty simple..maybe you should elaborate and be creative with it. Next was the level was pretty straightforward (sp?)..add more twists and problems..you know you've got a good level when you got something in there that is so hard it pisses people off and they start e-mailing you for hints! =D You kno..maybe spread a few diff keys..create some "problem" like you can't use the main door so you have to find another way through..be creative with that too. Also the texturing was blandish...that could use some work....differentiate between wall and floor and ceiling..you kno? not all the same texture...makes me feel like I'm exploring a cereal box..especially where the ship crashed..it crashed in a metal floor? It wouldn't like be half way in the floor ...it woulda like jut set there..or blew up..take things like that into consideration too...all in all if you improve on it and release a full version I think it would be great!|
|Nomadžoul||Posted: 02/23/03 03:33 Report AbuseOh and btw....JK is FAR from dead my friend.|
|Saruman||Posted: 02/27/03 04:35 Report AbuseYou can play Jedi Knight on the Internet! Where?|
|THU_Bloodinator||Posted: 03/23/03 23:52 Report AbuseHey, Saruman, go to http://www.zone.com/|
|thegrumpyfrog||Posted: 03/24/03 23:42 Report AbuseGraaaaaack. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
Scores (5 is about the average rating):
~ Visual artistry: 2 out of 10.
The fact that you didn't have Hall of Mirrors kept you from 1. I did like the way you designed the giant door thing or whatever with the Bossk in it. It shows you could be kinda good.
~ Plot: 1 out of 10. There is none. Please try to make up a plot that's good. Your level didn't stick to your plot. Why is there sky up there? And make your loading screen look nice, please! That's the first thing people see.
~ Fun factor: 1 out of 10. I had fun shooting.
~ Level layout and integrity: 2 out of 10. It's three rooms.
Overall score: 1. Sorry. This just does not need to be released.
|Connemara||Posted: 10/16/03 17:45 Report AbuseDude, I really gotta agree, this was pretty bad. Hope the real level is more involved and interesting.
The one really interesting part- I like the crashed Crow...that was pretty nifty. If you can achieve effects like that, good...just try and achieve more. :)
