Two towers sit majestically in the atmosphere of Bespin, where there's nowhere to go but down. This level is a sniper's paradise. It includes bot support! Enjoy!Screenshots:
|DSettahr||Posted: 03/03/03 20:18 Report AbuseI havent downloaded it yet, but judging from the screen shots it doesnt look too bad. More than one bridge between the bases would've been nice though.|
|Oobi-Doo Kerosbi||Posted: 03/03/03 20:29 Report AbuseI like it very much. And it's great fun to play.
I give you a 9 for this very nice work.
|Nomadßoul||Posted: 03/03/03 22:21 Report Abuseum....no...totally does not fit with the Bespin atmosphere at all. Also, for future reference, I wouldn't name your stuff after something someone may consider offensive ....ex. Two Towers and 9/11. People SHOULD be over it but there is still someone who will bitch about it.|
|wudan||Posted: 03/03/03 23:00 Report AbuseActually - those were "twin" towers, and "two" towers infers something of LOTR-ish-ness based mappage. Which this isn't.
Although the brushwork doesn't look immensly bad, this looks like it is far too simple to be enjoyeable.
First map ever?
|Wolf Devil||Posted: 03/03/03 23:05 Report AbuseNo this is not his first map! But it aint his best, either.
Firstly, this is not somthing you would see on Bespin. Secondly, it's obvious that you using the Bespin sky was just a quick way to get light to most places.
Look, I'm not gonna rate this because I haven't played it, but this is not going to be seen on many (if any at all) servers.
|Swedishborgie||Posted: 03/04/03 00:18 Report AbuseThanks for the comments. To start off I named it two towers because there are TWO TOWERS I wasn't trying to offend anyone or mislead anyone by calling it that. Second the Bespin sky shader lets off absolutely no light so I didn't put it in there to have "quick way to get light to most places" I honestly thought it looked nice and it was a feasible alternative to a space shader (you cannot breathe). All other LEC skies imply that you have a definite bottom and thatís not something I wanted and Iím not good enough yet to create my own skybox. I did use the ambient tag in the worldspawn entity to add some light but there are still a lot of actual lights in there.|
|The Lone Rogue||Posted: 03/04/03 03:53 Report AbuseThe towers themselves look great, but the bases they're on seem a bit awkward and out of place. I like it, overall.|
|Darth Vedder||Posted: 03/04/03 19:58 Report AbuseHeh, can anyone say "Unreal tournament: Face" :)
Doesn't look very bespinish...
|Wolf Devil||Posted: 03/04/03 23:11 Report AbuseYes, the bespin sky shader does give off light.|
|Corran2015||Posted: 03/04/03 23:51 Report AbuseGreat level man, I had a whole argument about the two towers thing but its not worth startin an argument, we know what we know, thats enough.|
|Swedishborgie||Posted: 03/05/03 01:30 Report AbuseOk here is the source for the bespin shader I used:
skyParms textures/skies/bespin 512 -
As you all can see it has no sun or surface light declarations therefore gives off NO light. Wolf you may have seen another Bespin shader out there but mine gives off no light.
|Wolf Devil||Posted: 03/05/03 03:42 Report AbuseThere's only one bespin sky shader, and it DOES give off light.
skyParms textures/skies/bespin 512 -
And to get this, I extracted the one from asset0.pk3 and opened it in notepad.
|Swedishborgie||Posted: 03/06/03 00:40 Report AbuseYou might be right... It's possible mine was modified when I installed the SDK. But I assure you that's the one I used and it gives off no light on my machine.|
