Duel In The Sky

The Massassi Temple » Levels/Mods » Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level » Duel In The Sky

Description

This is a simple Multiplayer level that I created for the use with 2 to 6 players. The level is fairly self explanatory, but basically it is set on a floating junkyard, miles above a planet's surface. There is a docking station for dueling purposes, as that is what the whole level is for. Weapons are allowed and are provided but of course the fun is in the saber battles! This is my first level so I hope that you like it, and any feedback, positive or negative, would help me greatly on building future levels. Please be kind! Thank you for trying my level.

Concept is nice, but the level overall is not so good.

1) The textures are way too repetitive.

2) There basically no architecture, it's just a giant box with 4 triangles cut in it.

3) I think the theme itself was nice, but you just need to expand on it more. Don't make it a giant box, have like another platform comming off the side or something. P.S. Why is the ground rock, when it's floating in the air? (I assume the whole thing is floating because of the sky through the clits in the walls)

Overall - A ranking of a 4. Good Idea, just not expressed well. Not bad for a first try though ;)

I think it's very good for a first level. I agree it needs a lot of improvement though, but then what would one expect? Like with anything, it takes time. Jed (or JKedit) is easy to learn, hard to master, but practice will make permanent.

Great concept, it's just hard to implement. I would reccommend indoor areas only for new authors, because they're much easier to handle than large, sprawling outdoor bases. Jk has a hard time simulating natural terrain, and it can be really difficult to design, even for veteran editors. Just remeber, cleaving is your best friend. Combine that with appealing textures, and your level's usually a winner. If it mmight help, you could always read my tutorial on cleaving. I'm no master, but it might help! :-)

Don't give up, JK needs more editors again. Keep up the good work!

I can see that this is your first level, I could now make this in a minute. ( not to brag ) But you have learned the concept of adding 3dos. Next time try to make it not so boxy and add more to it then one big room with a few 3dos. Otherwise, keep up the work.

I am the creator of this level, i know it needs alot of work and my future levels will be alot better, but with the limited # of sectors i can create, and the limited # of objects, it doent leave much to expand to.

so if there is anyone with the full version of JKedit for me to have, PLEASE, let me know by posting it here, or tell me where i can download the full version!!! it would help me alot!!!

thank you!

I'm not one of these people that beats up JKedit, but I have to say, don't you think you'd have an easier time with JED. It's free and best of all you can use plugins and make your own 3dos, not to mention most of the tutorials on Massassi are written for it.

Just a suggestion.

(EDIT: By the way, if you're interested, JED is available on Massassi in the "Programs" section under "Downloads."

Jed is hell, but who said you cant give it a shot? Come back once youve had about a year of practice. (I am not trying to sound insulting, but it literally takes about a year to master jed) -UNRATED-

Apparently the quality of both the levels and the feedback has dropped off a great deal when it comes to Jedi Knight. I could make this level (and I'm terrible at editing) in about 30 seconds. This kind of thing isn't even worth releasing. I have to rate it a 0 because, well, it's nothing anyone with a little patience couldn't replicate. It doesn't look good, it's not any fun, it's just some 3dos. I encourage you to keep editing and try again, but this sort of level is just silly.
