Description: Jedi Knight Arena is a multiplayer modification for Jedi Knight, similar to Rocket Arena which was originally released for the Quake series. JKArena pits two players against each other at a time. Other players wait in the observation area until it's their turn. Available weapons can be selected by the host and players can take themselves out of the "queue" at any time. These settings are saved across level transitions, making psuedo-dedicated servers a possibility (host can start a game, set up the weapons, remove him/herself from the queue, and then leave the game to run itself on a score or time limit).

  • Episode I sabers vs1.31 replaces Brighter Sabers vs1.2 (This mod gives you sabers that are straight, not pointy and look more like the Episode I sabers).
  • Alternate file: Brighter Sabers vs1.3 (Like 1.2, Episode IV through VI look, but straight sabers like in Episode I Sabers vs.1.31)
  • Force FX-SFX Tonedown (Jedi Academy only) -Replaces Force Effects Tonedown, this does everything Force Effects Tonedown does and also removes the force protection and absorbtion aura's almost completely).

As you probably have noticed, certain parts of our site are still down due to the recent PHP upgrade. Unfortunately, some server configuration still needs to be done and we are waiting for our host to accomplish that. Until that time, we won't be updating SotD or LotW and the EC will be down as well. Other sections will likely be down till we move to the new back-end, hopefully within two or three weeks. Sorry for any inconvenience.
3do Terrain Generator - Brian @ 3:05 AM
Hellcat has posted a very interesting tool for creating realistic looking terrain in Jedi Knight! It uses a heightmap (similar to Quake3 engine games, Serious Sam, and likely a lot of others), which is basically a 2d image containing shades of gray between black and white, to create a 3d representation (which of course is a 3do for JK). There are a lot of screenshots in the thread, and quite a few other showcase threads featuring this technology have been popping up.

The cog files have been updated for a small bug, and therefore we have uploaded a new version of the devkit. It can be found HERE.

THIS IS IMPORTANT TO LEVEL AUTHORS! The old devkit is not the one used in the official pack, this IS, so you should grab this new one immediately for any JKArena levels you may be working on.

Screenshot of the Day & Level of the Week - Brian @ 6:00 PM
As you can probably see, the Screenshot of the Day and Level of the Week scripts are back up and running. There was a problem with the Level of the Week, however. Most of the votes for the current LotW were lost, which made it so the LotW is based on a very small number of votes. Please vote again for your favorite levels so they get recognized properly.

Darth Slaw sends word that dr0id has released a new plugin for Jed:
drOid has put together a new Jed Plugin. It cleaves a group of multiselected sectors along a plane defined by 3 multiselected vertices (not necessarily part of the sectors). Download locations for the plugin and the source code are found below.

Description: This sequel to the highly successful SSR 4000 includes the improved SSR 4000 Pro sniper rifle (based on the SIG SSG-3000) with body-piercing bullets and a better scope, a new UGW assault rifle (based on the Steyr AUG) that uses virtually lagless cogs, useful dodge maneuvers, punches and uppercuts and kicks, ability to dive and go prone, an improved jetpack, heart-thumping music, and more.

There are also TWO revolutionary and totally unique modes, both activated by a hotkey. Combat Mode lets you run on walls while having lower gravity, faster movement, a green Matrix-like tint, and spinning reloads. eXtreme Time is like "Bullet Time"; everything is in slowmo, with slow animations and warped sounds.

Please ensure that you set all of the hotkeys, and remember that the only new guns are #2 (SSR) and #6 (UGW). I hope you enjoy this fun mod!

Description: In this mod, you get to be Scorpion from Mortal Kombat 2 (instead of Kyle), complete with harpoon feature and teleport ability, though you must be Scorpion to be able to use them. If you are Scorpion, you can also punch more rapidly. When you teleport, you will be able to select your target and warp behind him (above head level). And when you harpoon a sorry character, "C'me here!"

Description: (NB: This map is based on the JKR idea with credit to the original author who started JKR.)

This map is an idea that I have been playing with for a long time, and I am pleased to be able to fialy release it! The map consists of respawnable swoop bikes with optional sound effects (pk3 included) a large race track with a few surprises on the way. I have kept the weapons to a minimum in an attempt to encourage the use of swoop rather than getting tied down to a FFA, although its still fun to do so.

There are various new sound effects to give the map the impression of a large city. Also near the start line there is a special spectator service with transporters to key places around the map for come realistic spectating, and there is a start line computer up on the walkway. I hope you enjoy this map. If the music is gets on your nerves, I am deeply sorry!

Description: This is a simple Multiplayer level that I created for the use with 2 to 6 players. The level is fairly self explanatory, but basically it is set on a floating junkyard, miles above a planet's surface. There is a docking station for dueling purposes, as that is what the whole level is for. Weapons are allowed and are provided but of course the fun is in the saber battles! This is my first level so I hope that you like it, and any feedback, positive or negative, would help me greatly on building future levels. Please be kind! Thank you for trying my level.

Massassi File Backup... - Cool Matty @ 5:24 PM
Until our main fileserver has returned to working order, I've set up a backup server, which has the latest backup of the file server. This backup server is exactly that, a backup. It's not fully up to date (About two weeks old), and is nowhere near as fast. However, it'll hold us over until the main server comes back. We'll be sure to let everyone know when it returns, thanks for your patience.

Some Notes: Due to high demand, Life of Grismath, although only uploaded a day or so ago, can be found on the backup. Also, you can find instructions on how to find the level you are looking for by clicking on the link above, and going to the instructions file. It's quite hard to miss. Please, also remember, this is extremely slow, and is only offered due to extreme circumstances. Please refrain from direct linking, and we cannot provide support for it. If you can't find a file on the backup, we can't help you. Sorry.

SotD Image Conversion Script Fix - Brian @ 2:54 PM
Thanks to Brad (oSiRiS) for finding the problem that has made some of the Screenshot of the Day images look really whack. I kept blaming it on our server's graphics library, but in reality it was bad coding on my part. Not only did he pinpoint the problem, he wrote a script to convert all the old SotD thumbnails using the fixed method, so if you visit the SotD archives, you will see that the thumbnails are no longer messed up. Concerning Backup Server: - Cool Matty @ 11:34 AM
I may not have made this clear, but as this is a backup server, it has limited bandwith. Only download the levels/mods you require. Do NOT download entire directories. This has already become a problem. If someone is caught doing this, their IP will be banned from the backup server, and will have to wait until the main server comes online again. I keep a log of all connections, so please, don't make it a hassle for me, and remember, everyone has to use this server. Thank you.
