New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Gunners' Hide and Seek - Brian @ 3:53 AM
File: Gunners' Hide and Seek
Author: tadmaz
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Gunners' Hide and Seek is a simple level that actually is very good for most gunners. It has lots of "nooks and crannies" that are great for hiding and sniping. I think most people would enjoy this level!

New Jedi Knight Mod: Dark Trooper: Legacy - Brian @ 4:07 PM
File: Dark Trooper: Legacy
Author: Nightmare_Demon
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A small skin mod with a new lightsaber! Five Years After The Defeat of The Last Dark Trooper..... After seeing his brother, Davin, defect from the Empire, Conlin Felth, then an Imperial commando, set out to find Davin and to set him straight, even if he had to do it the hard way. Eventually, his hunt led him to a mysterious Sith artifact rumored to be destroyed. Conlin pocketed the relic, but as he was hurrying to leave the temple, the statue fell out of his pocket, and cracked into a billion pieces, releasing the trapped soul of the Dark Lord, Malhi Soltruc. Malhi tol Conlin where Davin was, but he also told him that his parents had not been shipped off to a penal colony, like the Imps had told Conlin, but rather had been brutally massacred, and their bodies incinerated. Using this information to turn Cinlin to the Dark Side, Malhi, also seeking revenge on the Imperials, led Conlin to the last Dark Trooper suit on Toleid XXI, which Conlin modified to fit himself. Now an unstoppable force, Conlin, joined with Malhi will reek havoc on the Empire for what they did to his family. He cannot be stopped; he will not be stopped.....
New MotS Multiplayer Level: Saber Of The Jedi - Brian @ 4:01 PM
File: Saber Of The Jedi
Author: Chad Canning
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a very small multiplayer level set in a small room with a Sith-like appearance. It consists of 3 round rooms with 2 hall ways that connect to the same room. This level is great for dueling and as many players as you can get.
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Star Destroyer Avenger - Brian @ 3:59 PM
File: Star Destroyer Avenger
Author: JK_Revenge
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a reproduction the Star Destroyer Avenger that is shown at the start of Star Wars. It has an assortment of many rooms including a shuttle bay, a tie bay an AT-AT bay and of course the captured Tantive IV (Corellian Corvette). It is quite a large level and is best for 4 players, as with 2 it can take a long time to find each other through the various rooms and corridors.
New MotS Multiplayer Level: Cargo Chasm - Brian @ 3:58 PM
File: Cargo Chasm
Author: Gelatinous Drool
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Adaptation of the Cargo Ship multiplayer level from Mysteries of the Sith. The changes make the level larger, and there are more powerups. No-force matches still work.
New Jedi Knight Mod: Brutal Weapons Pack - Brian @ 3:54 PM
File: Brutal Weapons Pack
Author: RoBoBeau
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is my first attempt at JK editing so give me a break on the ratings. I downloaded the gun sound pack, 2 cogs from one of my friends, and the gun 3DO pack. Then, I made my own cogs and BMs and threw them together to get this. The mod modifies all the weapons but the saber. It also has a IR goggle cog that lets you fly if you use the ir goggles. I plan to make a 2nd version and replace the IR goggle cog with a grappling hook. Its a small download so just give it a try.
ArmyTC Level Contest Announced - Aglar @ 2:46 PM
Uber(HOV), leader of the ArmyTC informed me via ICQ of a level contest. He passed on the following information:
Just a few more notes on the level contest: This isn't just an Army TC level contest... Runner-up maps will be in the next DFA beta. How cool is that? : )

Here are some more guidelines on the contest:

-The levels must have the right atmosphere. Obviously we don't want a space level ; ) So be sure to keep it realistic.

-Levels may NOT be already submitted or posted somewhere else. Though they may be released after the TC's release as a standalone level (not in any other mod!).

-This is obviously a MotS TC, so it must be a MotS level.

-All levels must be in before August 31st (may be subject to change if anything happens to come up).

Email all entries to uberleader@hotmail.com, thanks.

Well, I'm sure looking forward to it.

New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Dark Duel - Brian @ 2:11 AM
File: Dark Duel
Author: Death_Rattle
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A small map for saber dueling. Large, open, dark canyon with two pillars in the middle for dueling. Very simple level, nothing very flashy. Just something for fun and for straight out sabers. There is only a dark and light force surge, no health, no guns. Truly for saber fanatics. Works well with all force powers.

New MotS Mod: The FPSMan'sGuns v.5 BETA - Brian @ 2:07 AM
File: The FPSMan'sGuns v.5 BETA
Author: TheFPSMan
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This patch has some great guns although this is only a BETA release (the full version is on the way). The full version will include internal models too but this BETA only includes external models. The guns are really cool but the JPEGs suck because they are small files (18 kb); don't let them dissapoint you. This BETA version was released so I could get some help and get bugs fixed in the full version. If you want to help email me.

Where are the new levels? - Brian @ 6:31 PM
Well Kedri is on vacation and I had finals this week, so we didn't have time to post many files. I am currently downloading 34 submission emails. I will try to get these posted tonight or this weekend. Sorry for the delay! BTW: some of these look really great, like the Cargo Chasm by Gelatinous Drool and two submissions by NorthChaos. I'll post them as soon as I can!

Massassi & Command Chamber in Computer Games Magazine - Brian @ 8:07 PM
Chris sends word that the print June 2001 issue of Computer Games Magazine contains an 'Afterlife' column that features Jedi Knight and MotS. I'll post the text Chris sent here. I wasn't able to find a copy, unfortunately, because they have been replaced with the July issues. I am going to see if I can't order a back issue tomorrow morning. Anyway, here's the snippet, written originally by Brett Todd.
"A long time ago...
One game I can't seem to stop reinstalling is ucasArts legendary Jedi Knight. The groundbreaking sequel to Dark Forces may be nearing it's fourth birthday, but both it and the Mysteries of the Sith expansion pack still feature some of the most compelling first-person shooting [and, uh, sabering] this side of modern efforts like the afore mentioned No One Lives Forever. If you don't own either game, do yourself a favor and pick them up from a bargain bin near you. If you do own them, cruise over to The Massassi Temple and the Admiral's Command Center for a look at the many user-designed solo missions and multiplayer maps available.

Be prepared to surrender a lot of time to your PC if you're a Star Wars fan, though. Many of the home-brewed missions boast LucasArts-like design touches, some even go beyond the outstanding quality of retail levels such as "The Falling Ship." I've just lost the better part of a weekend to SavageX's epic "Leeza's Destiny 3.0" and Ryan Bickhart's incredible "Imperial Siege on Derra IV." Each features puzzles, new cutscenes, and all of the other frills that make an FPS level truly memorable. "Imperial Siege" may be the best user-designed level I've ever played for any game. Any way you look at it, getting back to Jedi Knight is a great way to kill time while waiting for Hayden Christansen to turn into Darth Vader in Episode II"
Big thanks to Chris for sending in the email. If you have this mag and a scanner, please scan the page(s) and send them to me!
