New Republic Commando Preview - DSettahr @ 9:25 AM
Actiontrip has posted a new Republic Commando preview. The article contains new screenshots, as well as new information about Commando's gameplay.
Players are permitted to pack only two weapons at a time, swapping them with other weapons lying on the ground whenever they like. We also have to point out that the development team fitted in an admirable assortment of Star Wars-flavored firearms. Your character will be able to advance through the game wielding weapons like the DC-17m, DC-15s Blaster Pistol, Wookie bowcaster, and a whole bunch of enemy weaponry to boot, such as the Trandoshan Slaver Shotgun, Geonosian Elite Beam Weapon, and more. Commando units are also equipped with handy switchblade slotted on their left wrist, allowing them to perform deadly melee attacks should they run out of ammo.

New KotOR Patch - DSettahr @ 7:50 AM
LucasArts has posted the version 1.02 patch for Knights of the Old Republic. This update fixes many of the bugs within the game, including:

  • Holding Shift when clicking Give Item or double-clicking the item to give will transfer the entire stack, without shift it moves the items one at a time.
  • Fixed a bug where the Walk key was not bindable.
  • Made a fix to the Force Point Regeneration item property so it actually regenerates Force points.
  • Dead party members will no longer show up later in the game. What with them being dead and all.

The complete list is a lot longer, and it looks like they've made a lot of improvements, so anyone with KotOR should definately download and install the patch.

Original Trilogy DVD Packaging Revealed? - DSettahr @ 6:08 AM
Normally, we try to stick mainly to posting news about Star Wars games, but this is just too cool to not give a news item about. It would appear that KamuiWeb has managed to find pictures of the packaging for the Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD's, which are slated to be released this fall. There will apparently be 3 different available packages, "The Final Conflict," "Jedi vs. Darkside," and "The Imperial Collection." The site is in French, but you should have no trouble viewing the pictures.

UPDATE: It would appear that the site has been taken down due to the traffic. If anyone has any copies of the pictures, I'd appreciate it if they'd email them to me. Thanks.

UPDATE: The pictures are back up again, on a much less bandwidth intensive page.
