Secondly, we have a new forum, called Music Discussion and Showcase. Most everybody thought this was long overdue, so we finally caved in and made it. We hope you enjoy this.
Kengo sends us this:
At Map-Review.com we have two more interviews: We talk to Andy867 and Manquesa about the upcoming space combat modification and map for Jedi Academy; Asteroids. This project aims to bring space combat in JA to a new level, introducing many new features and having four destinctly specialised craft lining up for both the Rebels and Empire, as they square off in an Asteroid belt.Check them out!
Check it out here.We also talked with Monsoontide about his SAGA maps for Jedi Outcast, Anchorhead and Bast Castle, his impressive vehicle work for Jedi Academy, and his upcoming Siege level for JA set on Endor.
Check it out here.

We'll try to find out how long these intermittent outages will last, and will bring it back when we are almost positive of extended server uptime. Until then, enjoy the backup server some more, or waste yout time in the forums. And yes, it aggravates us as much as you.
Thanks for your patience.

No word yet on why it went down again, all I know is it seems to be staying up now, at least for the moment. I won't be taking the backup server down for a day or so until I am certain it is staying up, but it is safe to assume the file server is now back, again.
- Only 2 connections per computer/IP - Additional Connections will be denied
- No directory downloads, such as downloading the entire JO MP directory - FTP Bannable offense
- Remember, this server is for everyone. Don't abuse it.
Also, some additional information:
The files on the FTP are totally up to date, containing every single level we have in our database. I was lucky to resynchronize the backup while the server was online. So anything within the past month is available now.

Enter the dark military side of the Star Wars® universe as a squad leader of a Republic Special Operations unit. You are a Republic Commando. You must infiltrate deep behind enemy lines and lead your elite team on precision operations – lurking in the shadows, striking at will...The theme and the screenshots look absolutely amazing. I am really looking forward to this game. The press release says that the game is being developed internally by LucasArts (not farmed out to a separate developer like Jedi Outcast/Academy). Let's hope they deliver another classic like Jedi Knight. Estimated release date: Fall 2004.

Well, the files server is back up. Thanks to CoolMatty for noticing. We apologize for the delay, but there was really nothing we can do about it. Thanks to Recon Gamer for fixing it up for us.
CoolMatty: In addition, as soon as the last people finish using the backup server, I will be taking it down, and synching it with the server. So, if you have a file in download, finish it up, and disconnect. (Or just restart the download from Massassi, which is quicker) Thanks.

You can access the server here (Requires FTP): http://massassiftp.sorrowind.net
Some Notes: Due to high demand, Life of Grismath, although only uploaded a day or so ago, can be found on the backup. Also, you can find instructions on how to find the level you are looking for by clicking on the link above, and going to the instructions file. It's quite hard to miss. Please, also remember, this is extremely slow, and is only offered due to extreme circumstances. Please refrain from direct linking, and we cannot provide support for it. If you can't find a file on the backup, we can't help you. Sorry.

Description: LoG 01: Of All Places...
You are Tiberius Grismath, and you have an awful headache. You awake in an MRI machine in what appears to be a hospital, but you don't see any people. What's more, you can't seem to recall how you even got there.

Description: This is a medium sized single player level for Mots. It takes place in the Empire's new headquarters on the small planet of Thalon. Kyle Katarn has been sent there by Luke to investigate, and if possible, destroy the imperials new superweapon.

Description: This is a simple Multiplayer level that I created for the use with 2 to 6 players. The level is fairly self explanatory, but basically it is set on a floating junkyard, miles above a planet's surface. There is a docking station for dueling purposes, as that is what the whole level is for. Weapons are allowed and are provided but of course the fun is in the saber battles! This is my first level so I hope that you like it, and any feedback, positive or negative, would help me greatly on building future levels. Please be kind! Thank you for trying my level.

Description: This is a multiple gametype map of average size. It has got a few secrets and a few "things" to use. It's a clan map so it has got some clan graphics, some custom sounds and other stuff. All messages are in french as NFOR is a french clan! The zip file include french and english readme files.

Description: (NB: This map is based on the JKR idea with credit to the original author who started JKR.)
This map is an idea that I have been playing with for a long time, and I am pleased to be able to fialy release it! The map consists of respawnable swoop bikes with optional sound effects (pk3 included) a large race track with a few surprises on the way. I have kept the weapons to a minimum in an attempt to encourage the use of swoop rather than getting tied down to a FFA, although its still fun to do so.
There are various new sound effects to give the map the impression of a large city. Also near the start line there is a special spectator service with transporters to key places around the map for come realistic spectating, and there is a start line computer up on the walkway. I hope you enjoy this map. If the music is gets on your nerves, I am deeply sorry!

Description: This is an update of 'swoopfun'. I have deleted the two custom vehicles from the map's pk3 because it ued to cause a max_vehicles error. So, for the map to work properly, you have to have place the two original vehicles' pk3 in your BASE folder.
