New MotS Single Player Level: Life of Grismath Teaser - Cool Matty @ 8:29 AM
File: Life of Grismath Teaser
Author: Lord Tiberius Grismath
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Once lord and master of an entire nation, the exiled Tiberius Grismath is just another everyday nobody. Fleeing from the fires of civil war in his homeland, the Free Popular Democratic Republic of Dhalkar, Grismath is trying to lay low in a distant but powerful country called Union Territory. He's been shacking up for the past few days at 41 Dormont Street, a very posh residence with a mysterious recluse of a landlord. This landlord fellow doesn't seem too particular as to who boards in his manor, which is a plus in the sense that Grismath can keep a low profile and avoid the various headhunters that are surely on the prowl, but a minus because of the other rabble attracted to the place by a landlord who doesn't ask questions. Grismath is in a peaceful slumber, when suddenly...

Another Massassi Birthday - 8th Anniversary - Cool Matty @ 6:18 PM
Today is Massassi's 8th Anniversary. Not a big milestone, but the site hasn't received proper celebration yet anyway, so why not start now? It's been an amazing 8 years, something I am happy to be a part of, along with the rest of the staff and the community here.

As a sort celebration, I think it would be really cool if everyone who used to visit our site at one time or another came back, if even for one day, just to say hi to old friends in the community. So stop in at this thread, and say hello! Oh, and if you know of any other Massassians who were a part of our community, try and get them to come, if only for one day!

Thank you everyone, and here's to another 8 years of fun!

JK DF2 Makes a Zone Comback - jEDIkIRBY @ 3:27 PM
After much anticipation, the day of the "JK Zone Comeback" has come. Over the past 3 months, the JK DF2 has been growing exponentially. Now an estimated 100 people log on everyday to hear the latest JK gossip as well as play their favorite game. With this surplus in JK enthusiasm, it was agreed upon that JK should strive to return to its former roots on the MSN Gaming Zone. This spawned the creation of www.jedizone.com in order to encourage further JK gaming on the zone. A Sabers tournament inaugrating this event was hosted. An estimated 50 people logged in and out of the old zone Nar Shaddaa marking this pinnacle of this evening. For those who are still love JK, I encourage you to log on to the zone at www.jedizone.com

A quick note about news: - jEDIkIRBY @ 7:08 PM
A couple of people have personally contacted me about their news not showing up on the main page. I figured I'd post to just let you know that E-mailing news@massassi.net will not get your news posted. You must use the Submission Form in order to get your news posted. The e-mail is old, and only 3 people have access to it. I, however, check the Form's Cache every time I log on. Using the form should insure your news gets posted pronto.

It's moving... again! - jEDIkIRBY @ 9:33 AM
Hideki will be moving Millennium, his editing site, back to the massassi server.
Hello.

Due to my own private concern, I'm 'once again'... moving Millennium's address. It's glad to still have visitors to already over 6 years old site. And this time I'm going to keep it the last location as in...
http://www.millennium.massassi.net

Yes, the old good location at massassi, tx again to Brian for letting me put it back on massassi once again.

Right now, I just hurried on my part and http://millennium.mkst.jp/ is already under condition that you cannot access it, but don't worry, soon I get access to massassi server, I upload the site and you will have it access from it there.

Sry for the continuous mess and merry X'mas on you all.
You can post comments here. Thanks to Hideki for keeping us informed!

#JKGames - jEDIkIRBY @ 4:25 PM
The admins over at the JKHub have put together a chatroom similar to the now-dead #Massgames channel in hopes of redirecting game-organization talk. From the main page:
To channel some of the confusion, the JKHub chatroom is founding #JKGames, an mIRC room on irc.holonet.org for setting up and organizing JK Games, be it for Beta Testing, or just overall fun. Talk to one of the ops to have your game added to the list.

I'm looking for anyone who knows mIRC-script well enough to write a game-bot that either Zeq or I can run on our machines while we're away. If you're interested, talk to me in the chat.

Hopefully, with the release of JK-Client projects, we'll be able to replace the #JKGames channel with JK lobbies coordinated through the JK Launcher. Until then, feel free to use #JKGames!

A Note: This channel has far more laid back rules, and isn't suggested for younger JK Gamers. We're hoping for it to be a general room for organizing games, not for discussion. Because of that, we're not going to be moderating it as we do #JKHub. If you have a problem that needs to be handled, contact one of the channel ops.
If you're interested, stop in and start a game!

Can you believe this is the seventh year we've done this?! I know I can't.

The rules are the same as always. So get to work and start sending in your logos!

To start us off, I'd like to post the poor logos that didn't get posted last year due to the fault of yours truly. So, here they are, delayed but not defective, the first logos of the 2005 contest!

JKHub.net's Official Level Pack - jEDIkIRBY @ 3:30 PM
The JKHub is having it's 1st ever HLP! From the JKHub main page:
All JK editors are invited to create and submit fast-paced deathmatch "one-room" levels to be included in the first JK Editing Hub level pack. Follow the guidelines, and gain instant fame. (Well, maybe not instant.) Judges will select the best levels.

We anticipate (but don't require) levels that include innovations based on the editing community's ongoing JK research and pushing of JK's limits. Although gameplay is the foremost criterion, innovations that enhance gameplay are favored.

Have fun!
Get cracking, Massassi!

Massassi Now Taking Submissions Again! - Cool Matty @ 6:40 AM
I have now cleared out the submissions inbox, so what you see on the main page is what we have received. If for some reason you do not see your submission on here, please feel free to resubmit it. (And also check the submission guidelines to assure the best possible chance of getting the file posted)

Things to keep in mind while preparing your submission:

  • A human being needs to read these. Use decent grammar and spelling.
  • Reformat your images to 100KB or smaller JPEGs, please.
  • ReNAME your images also. JSHOT0001.jpg is getting quite annoying.
  • Having the screenshots separate is best. Attach them separately, or in their own zip file.
  • If your images are 1600x1200, resize them to something 800x600 or smaller. Not everyone has gigantic monitors, nor the download speed to get such a file.
  • Including your name, email, level name, and the GAME IT SUPPORTS (such as Jedi Outcast FFA, or JACTF) are so incredibly handy. Nothing annoys me more than having to load up a level to see if it is JO or JA.

Follow those guidelines, while most may not be required, will help to get your level posted quicker. Especially if I decide to give up for the night on the 3rd straight annoying submission. :-)
