Millennium - Brian @ 6:52 AM
Millennium, our hosted cog site, is back up and running. It's been only semi-functional due to CGI "issues" on our new server. You will be forarded to a temporary server until Hideki has time to make the site compatible.
Al MacDonald & DCM - Brian @ 3:50 AM
JediKnight.net has announced that Al MacDonald's Jedi Knight Skin site is back online (apparently he was having server access problems). With it, he brings two new episodes of Diary of a Crazed Mimbanite, his popular Star Wars parody comics. Al also posted word that he's working on a DCM skin pack!
Plugins Page - Brian @ 2:57 AM
I realized yesterday that when the Code Alliance moved, they changed where they keep their plugins, which in turn broke our link. Anyway, it's fixed, so if you were having problems getting to the plugins page, please try again.
Command Chamber Updates - Brian @ 2:51 AM
The Admiral's Command Chamber is almost fully back online. Ryan has the reviews, featured levels, and screenshot of the week sections online. Left to do looks like their news srcipt and their levels archive. Be sure to stop by and check out the latest, which includes a feature on a new level called Liberating Cloud City.
Rbots Coming Soon... - Brian @ 2:47 AM
Raynar has posted news regarding the next release of Rbots on the Rbots site.

New MotS Multiplayer Level: Turmoil - Brian @ 8:12 AM
File: Turmoil
Author: Andrew Garner (GhostOfYoda)
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a medium sized highly 3D level for 3 to 4 players. The main feature is a waterfall running into a whirlpool. There are plenty of cliffsides and caves making it an interesting game for sniping and gun matches. It is not that good for sabres as there is not much room to swing them!
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Base 2601 - Brian @ 8:09 AM
File: Base 2601
Author: Zk_deadwalkers & Berlick
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A level that is set in a canyon; three buildings outside and a building that goes into a cliff. There is one secret. The level is meant for 2-4 players and I recommend using at least force level 3. It is for sabers and guns. I would like to thank Berlick for his help. He played a good role in the making of this level (he fixed everything I messed up and did stuff I didn't know how to do).
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: RAiN PacK - Brian @ 8:04 AM
File: RAiN PacK
Author: RAiN FX
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is set of four MP Levels designed by myself and two former RAIN members. Three of them are mostly designed for guns. One of them is a re-make. Sorcerer's Tower you may recall; I have modified it with his permission and re-added it. 2 of the levels are identical with a sabers and guns version.
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Sith Temple - Brian @ 8:02 AM
File: Sith Temple
Author: Turtlesteve
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This level is a small 4-player level set inside a temple. Most of the rooms have multiple exits and you may find yourself dying before you know your enemy was attacking you. This can also be used to your advantage, as it is easy to switch back in the corridors and lose an opponent on your tail. The level is fast and furious, and contains all weapons.
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Octogon Mines - The Escape - Brian @ 7:59 AM
File: Octogon Mines - The Escape
Author: SiCe_JaiKaiman
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: After escaping from the lower regions of the Octogon Mines, you must now escape to the surface. Your journey will not be an easy one. Others are also with you trying to find the only spacecraft remaining. The very future of the Alliance is in your hands - for you are the last of the Jedi...

Fast and furious this level is for up to six players; good for sabers and guns alike.
New Jedi Knight Mod: Green Devil's Saber Pack - Brian @ 7:55 AM
File: Green Devil's Saber Pack
Author: Green Devil
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: It contains about 35 new realistic sabers, including Spork sabers and some Sithsabers. I mean realistic as in they could actually be a saber in the movies or something. I'm just getting sick of sabers that are like lightning bolts or pokemon balls going up and down. I just believe the game is more fun when it looks more realistic. It also includes some new saber sounds.
Levels Section - Brian @ 7:21 AM
Big thanks to Hideki (of Millennium) for helping me get the levels search working again. Basically, the script that builds the index was completely jacked, so we had to reprogram parts of it. It's been so long since I've messed with perl... Anyway, the levels search should now be up to date (none of the new levels were included in the index).

Also a small upgrade to the levels section (suggested by Hideki) - you can now easily tell which page you are on when browsing.

Now that that's all settled, we can continue posting levels...

Massassi Chat Server Move - Brian @ 10:39 PM
Now that our current server is in some semblance of stability, we have officially moved the chat channel to irc.massassi.net. The easiest way to join the fun is to click the chat link in the sidebar. If, however, you are familiar with IRC and would like to use your own IRC client to connect to our server, please use the following information:
Server: irc.massassi.net
Port: Default or 6667
Channel: #massassi
Any problems/concerns, please let me know.
Massassi Wars - The Massassi Menace - Brian @ 10:35 PM
Jedi Nights noted that the ever-creative folks over on the Command Chamber forums (namely CookedHaggis) have added the latest installment of the Massassi Wars. The new one is entitled The Massassi Menace.
Turmoil has engulfed the JK community. The placement of banner ads on hosted web sites is in dispute.

Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of deadly battleships, the greedy UGO Federationā„¢ has stopped all shipping to the small planet of Sigma 51-A.

While the forums of the Community endlessly debates this alarming chain of events, Supreme Chancellor Bickhart has secretly dispatched two SP Editors, the guardians of peace, justice and sanity in the Community, to settle the conflict...
Etc. - Brian @ 10:51 AM
I implemented some minor changes to the mats section and the Editor's Corner. For the mats, it's now a double column view which I think looks much better. Also when you view a screenshot it allows you to go back to the category you were viewing, rather than having to rely on your back button. For the Editor's Corner, I added a link to the archives. This is where you can get a complete list of everyone that's ever updated their corner.

I am planning some other major changes to the EC pretty soon. Now that we're on a decently fast server, I can implement some of the things I've been planning, such as auto-generating thumbnails, different viewing options, and basically just a nice upgrade.

Links Section - Brian @ 11:21 PM
The links section is now back online. Remember, we purged it about a month ago, so if you haven't added your site in quite a while, you should go make sure it's there.
SavageX Returns - Brandon @ 8:32 AM
It seems that SavageX has settled down and is resuming work on his SS3 Mod. The next release will be Beta 9.0 because of the amount of changes since the last beta. Anyway, here are a few updates for Beta 9.0:
  • Removed the dead corpse effect due to collision problems.
  • Decreased the explosions for the RPG and M16 to balance gameplay.
  • Pipebombs are limited to only 5 bombs per detonation and pipe bombs are stronger than the RPG.
  • Players can retrieve thrown knifes.
  • Knife has new model. You can see both hands now and features better slash animations.
  • Glock pistol has new model. It resembles a standard glock 17 now.
  • New Weapon: Taser Rod. This stun gun that resembles a pipe ranch can zap anything that gets within range and can also be swung with the fire 2 button. I got the idea from a similar weapon from "lame duke" (lame duke is the unsupported early beta of Duke Nukem 3D).
  • Victory gesture: Players can now express themselves by making a body gesture and a victory cry (similar to Quake 3's gesture).
Check out the SS3 Website for more updates, screenshots and more.
Apocalyptic Editors Group Web Site Updates - Brandon @ 8:11 AM
According to DragonPhinn the Apocalyptic Editors Group Web Site has updated with an all new "Starter Set" and project updates. So head over there and check it out.

Announcing - CTF Contest Deadline - Archimedes @ 6:11 AM
On behalf of the staff, I apologize for the delay of this announcement. You may now submit your contest entries to contest@massassi.net. Please follow the exact same instructions for submitting a normal level. The deadline for submissions will be set to Wednesday, March 21. This means you have a few more days to give a few finishing touches and send your masterpiece in. I wish you all good luck!
Star Wars Gaming Survey - Brian @ 3:37 AM
Brandon pointed out on the forums that LEC is conducting an online gaming survey. I strongly urge everyone to go fill out this survey once to make sure your opinions are heard. I also urge you to vote for continuations of the Dark Forces series, or at least first person shooters, but hey, I may be biased. Thoughts on the survey? Post them here.
New Jedi Knight Single Player Level: Imperial Pumping Station - Brian @ 2:51 AM
File: Imperial Pumping Station
Author: Kiramin
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: You are Rebel Special Agent Corbit. You must infiltrate and destroy an Imperial Pumping Station in order to deprive an Imperial Stronghold of its water supply. Unless you succeed at your mission, the Stronghold will be able to hold out against the Rebel siege long enough for Imperial reinforcements to arrive. Meet your Commander in-game for the mission briefing...

Database Downtime - Brian @ 4:47 AM
Our database will be down probably most of today for some trouble-shooting. This means that most of our site won't be funtioning properly. This includes levels, 3dos, mats, EC, reviews, and probably other sections that I haven't remembered. The forums will still be up. I apologize for any inconvenience, but this is necessary to ensure future stability.
