New Jedi Outcast Multiplayer Level: Lava Caves - GhostOfYoda @ 3:29 PM
File: Lava Caves
Author: SwedishBorgie
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a small platform based duel level placed inside a smoldering hot cave filled with lava. It was originally supposed to look like a level from Phantasy Star Online. This level has full bot support. Also included are instructions on porting this level into Jedi Academy. Hope this one is worth the download! Enjoy!
New Jedi Outcast Mod: Watersaber 1.0 - GhostOfYoda @ 3:12 PM
File: Watersaber 1.0
Author: Radagast
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a mod that turns the blue lightsaber into one of boiling water. If you listen closely you can hear it boil.
New Jedi Knight Mod: Slaw's JK Skinpack - GhostOfYoda @ 3:01 PM
File: Slaw's JK Skinpack
Author: Darth Slaw
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a pack of 14 new skins (Boc, the bartender, Kyle-sized Max, Maw, Gorc, Pic, Gran 1 and 2, the brown tusken, red and gold-padded sandtroopers, a stormtrooper, C-2P0, and Darth Maul). I have included new and fixed existing character soundclasses and sounds. MP Skin selection is now alphabetized. Saber attacks are faster. Two new saber choices are available. Other small modifications were also implemented here and there. This mod has been in the "factory" for quite some time now - a couple years to be exact. This is my second skinpack and after a long period of work (considering I was an amateur editor), I think it turned out pretty well.
New Jedi Knight Mod: Mortal Kombat 2 Skinpack - GhostOfYoda @ 2:56 PM
File: Mortal Kombat 2 Skinpack
Author: Darth Slaw
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is my third skinpack, which contains the 12 selectable characters from the game Mortal Kombat 2 (Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Reptile, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Kitana, Jax, Mileena, Baraka, Scorpion, and Rayden) as well as Smoke (Human) and Noob Saibot. All have been created and added to the end of the default JK models list. Enjoy!

Jedi Academy Files Sections Opened - blujay @ 11:33 PM
We're proud to announce the opening of our Jedi Academy files sections. We've added additional multiplayer categories to make it easier to find what you're looking for. I've updated the submission instructions as well. So, start sending in your files!

Note: If you've already submitted your JA file, please be patient and we'll get it posted. Please do not resend it for at least a week from now. Thanks.
_yo_WaterWorld Deleted for LotW Abuse - blujay @ 11:15 PM
The recent Level of the Week, _yo_WaterWorld, has been deleted due to abuse of the Level of the Week voting system and the level rating system. Apparently the author registered five nicknames, in addition to his normal one, and used them to rate his level a 10 and vote for it for LotW. Needless to say, this will not be tolerated on Massassi.

If you visit #massassi, The Massassi Temple's chat room, please read the notice on the chat page for some important information regarding the room's status.
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Pipe Lines - Cool Matty @ 1:50 PM
File: Pipe Lines
Author: Edward
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a level where you and your friends get thrusted through large pipes. There is also fuel so you better be careful with blaster fire! Not only that, the throwables have been changed so now, when you punch, blast, dinamite, etc. them they will go all crazy. And they ride with the thrust so you wouldn't want one of those in the head! In any case, enjoy the game!
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Zindel - Cool Matty @ 1:39 PM
File: Zindel
Author: David Sevy
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: In the middle of the affluent Zindel Sector of Coruscant stand two towers that are beginning to show their age. They're outdated and slated for demolition next month, but until then you're free to explore. Just try not to shoot any tenants, please. This large, vertical level is good for up to 16 players, and uses some 16-bit textures.)
New Jedi Outcast Multiplayer Level: Sith Stadium - Cool Matty @ 1:26 PM
File: Sith Stadium
Author: RLegolas777
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Ok, this is my very first map that I've really released to the public outside of my clan Redeemed. The basic idea of the map is that it's an old sith stadium. I did not get these from any Star Wars books I've read; this is a completely imaginative stretch. Basically, the sith stadium is an ancient stadium where the sith would gather to witness some gruesome entertainment. Either that or they'd take it out on each other. It's kinda like the Roman colosseums. You're sure to find some very unpleasant surprises in this map.
New Jedi Knight Single Player Level: The New Threat - Cool Matty @ 1:18 PM
File: The New Threat
Author: Nigel Mcloughlin
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This level is set about a year after Kyle defeted Jerec. To find out who is behind the uprising you will have to wait for part 2, which I have already started working on and should come out in a few months. This will be a possible 6, 7 or 8 part series I am making. If you get through the first level too fast then just explore around courasant. the are interesting things lying around. Also kyle has his new jedi robes and a really cool saber colour by me.

New Jedi Outcast Multiplayer Level: Rooms of Doom - Cool Matty @ 1:35 PM
File: Rooms of Doom
Author: Voronwe_Elf
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Alright, this is NOTHING like the Lazer War edition maps...*wipes brow* I have made a map consisting of 8 rooms, each themed differently...1) a snow-based map 2) a force-saber-duel room, 3) a rocket, slippery-floored room, 4)an ammo and item dump, 5) a teleport room.(going under the arches with I,II,III will teleport you to different locations. Going under the central arch will also teleport you, only the arch with no figure above in the cylinder will do nothing. ) 6) a big room, filled with "foxholes" and a flechette, a repeater, and rockets, 7)a yavin-like room, with trees, water, etc. 8) a maze... has weapons with bouncing projectiles.

...But new files will have to wait - blujay @ 5:45 PM
Unfortunately, while downloads are working, uploads are not. And unfortunately, I found this out too late to do anything about it. So new files won't be posted for a while longer. Thanks for your patience.
Downloads Back Online - blujay @ 1:50 PM
Some of you might have already noticed, but our downloads are back up again. Hopefully file posting will resume shortly. Happy downloading!

CoolMatty: In addition, I have taken down the Emergency Backup server, since there is no real purpose in keeping it up. So if you had it bookmarked, make sure you notice the change.

JK Patch Enforcer! - BV @ 6:47 PM
The_Mega_ZZTer sends us exciting news about his new replacement for Patch Commander.

He writes:

I am proud to announce my first noteworty contribution to the Jedi Knight community... I have made a replacement for the excelent Patch Commander, called Patch Enforcer. Why, you ask? Well, I have had various problems with Patch Commander over the years, including slow loading times. So I was inspired to make my own clone!

Download here:

Some people have reported having problems with my site, others none. I appologize if you can't download it, if too many people have a problem I can upload it to GeoS$%^ies.

Here is a comparison between PC and PE:
- PE loads quicker than PC because it gathers lass gob information. However, it cannot give said detailed gob information, nor can it check for patch conflicts.
- PE shows all JK and MotS patches in one screen with handy icons for clarity, no switching between games.
- PE allows you to install and delete patches with ease... or even mothball patches.
- PE has a refresh button so you don't have to restart it if you move patches around.
- PE has a "Turn off all patches now" option, so you don't accidentally put two patches on at once.
- PE doesn't have annoying sounds... ok the truth is I can't do sounds. So what. :P
- PE has the fabled legendary "Gebohq Easter Egg"... those with old alpha copies of PE can scour the source code for a hint on how to enable it.

Of course, PC has it's Repository, GOB Viewer, and Conflict Detection Thingy... I've never used them, have you?

This IS a beta, please send me bug reports at the_mega_zzter@yahoo.com... but one thing tho, this is NOT a bug:
- Sorting the list is disabled, it will not sort when you click the column headers. This is intentional.

Have fun!

The [official] forum thread is here.

- The Mega-ZZTer

Once the files come back online, Massassi will set up a mirror to help out. Good job Mega! Check it out!

Rolling Revolution! - BV @ 6:03 PM
ID_Junkguy brings us this about his mod:

Hi! ID_Junkguy here, and I can't wait to tell you the news! You all remember that Rolling Game mod I released a while back, right? Some people had problems with it, however, and thus were not able to enjoy it fully. So now, I am working on a new project called Rolling Revolution, and it will feature a completely updated Rolling mod. It will offer new and high quality stereo songs to roll to, improved cogs, and more!

In addition, I am going to package with the mod every single Rolling level ever released, including original levels by me, MrRavenX, and The Mega-ZZTer. In addition, I invite EVERY LEVEL MAKER out there to create and submit their own Rolling levels to me so that I can include it in the final release of Rolling Revolution.

I have also created a Rolling Development Kit (RDK) for people planning on making Rolling levels. It includes a mod that is almost the same as the original Rolling mod, but has modified cogs and improved physics so that level makers can test their own Rolling levels accurately. Also, it is full of information for Rolling level makers to get started. This RDK is available at my site NOW, so check www.junkguy.tk to get it if you want to have your level released with Rolling Revolution. The deadline is not announced yet, but it will most likely be in one month.

Thank you guys for being so great. Without your support, I surely would not have made so many fun mods for the Jedi Knight community! Keep Rolling!

Emergency files.massassi.net Server - Cool Matty @ 6:10 PM
I have launched an Emergency Backup server, containing all the levels, mods, and programs hosted on Massassi. This server can be accessed at ftp://24.166.245.117.

To use the server effectively, please read the instructions file on the server. Just click the link, the file is very hard to miss. This server is not by any means "fast", and is only meant as a backup until the main server comes back online. The files are also not completely accurate. The files are only current as of 8/11/03, meaning that any levels posted on Massassi after this date will not be on this backup. It should return with the return of the main server, so don't resubmit your levels.

If you have any problems, PLEASE email me, at CoolMatty@massassi.net and not the staff email address. Be sure we are trying our best to get the main server back online as soon as possible. Thank you.
