From Geoff:
ForceRemap will allow you to re-align the textures on 3do models. This tool is intended to complement JED and is for texturing purposes only. Basically i decided to create this tool because stitching in JED won't allow you to wrap a texture seamlessly over a complex shape. ForceRemap allows you to do this. While it's true that Milkshape can be used for this purpose, i belive that FR is easier to use, and it's free. Two skins that were textured with it are included as examples and to illustrate its capabilities. Please visit the homepage and view the readme for more information.

NOTE: This is the first public release, and while it appears to be stable i expect there will be bugs. So please report them to me with as much detail as possible if you find them. Special thanks to Friend14 for beta-testing this program.
Check it out.
One important note: Massassi's mail services were also out of commission, so if you sent anything our way between the 11th and the 14th of April, please re-send your e-mail, because there's a gaping hole in the staff's collective inbox for those dates. Thanks!

Anyway, here's some screenshots, concept art, and models from the recently announced game, Jedi Academy. According to LucasArts, characters can be completely customized with different species, dual-bladed lightsabers, and unique saber handles, and it will feature new vehicles.

Description: Your VT812 Cargo Fighter has crashed on a desert planet. It seems the planet has been deserted for many years. On your way through the soft dry sand dunes, you find another ship, an E-Wing Fighter. It is unlike any design you have ever seen. You find footsteps, and a source of weapons. You must find this enemy, before he finds you. Now, night has fallen, and the tension has risen.
This is a medium to large sized multiplayer level. It is reccomended for FF Guns, but it's fun to have saber duels as well. The previous version of this level was called Sand Trap, and this is that level at night. That's not the only thing that's changed, however. There are now ruins, better textures, and I fixed the terrain in some areas.

It is now known that Jedi Academy is due for PC and X-Box release in Fall. The game will also depart from having Kyle Katarn as a lead, but he will still remain an important figure in the story, taking the role of the players instructor in the academy.
Gamespot have also released an article containing much the same information along with the now familiar 10 screenshots of the game.

Description: This is a small multiplayer level meant for a mod that gives you a sniper rifle. It is possible to play without one, however. This is my first level that I've released. It's good for 2-10 players.

Description: The first "Rolling mod" add-on level! Level includes some cool halfpipes to make things interesting and various booster pads to launch you at unholy rates of speed. This level is setup for racing so everytime you do a lap you get 5 points. Maneuver through the various obstacles and make it to the finish line first to win! A COG prevents fall/collision damage, so go as fast as you can. This is my first level, so feedback is greatly appreciated.

I would like to give a big thanks The Game NwO and the rest of the Clan for there help and support and hosting the new system should make news updates more easy and more often. At the moment we're working on a Demo what we hope to have out shortly, which will contain the Nar Shaddaa Level “Double Cross at Nar Shaddaa” with new texture, and more NPCs. We're also working on pre-rendered cut scenes for the intro. We have a part of the intro finished where you see the Vengeance. Soon as all the Dark Jedi are finished we'll be working on finishing the scene and we hope to include the fly through of Nar Shaddaa. We're also looking for new team members for the Mod the open positions. They are....

Description: Now you can play a real game of chess with others in JK. You will need to have TEAM PLAY on for the chess game to work. RED team moves the WHITE pieces and GOLD team moves the BLACK pieces. To move pieces just activate the piece you want to move and then the square you want it to move to and the piece will move there. To take another piece just activate that piece instead of a square. There are more instructions in the Read-me, so I strongly urge that you read that.

Description: This is a small Deathmatch level. It is loosely based on a Skybox Arena in Unreal Tournament. There are plenty of ammo pickups and concussion rifles and a few armor vests and bacta tanks. It should be good for some 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 action. I wouldn't suggest more than 4 people on this level at a time as it may be a bit crowded.

Description: "Star Wars: Galactic Civil War" is a class-based modification for "Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight".
Features include:
There are over 100 new characters from all parts of the Star Wars universe, available in 3 official Character Packs, to coincide the release of GCW, and one large Character Pack containing all the official characters. Note that at least one Character Pack must be used in conjunction with the GCW Base Patch, and the Base Patch includes a blank Character Pack, so users may play GCW using the just the original Jedi Knight characters with their respective class settings. Additional Character Packs, as well as a wealth of useful information on Galactic Civil War can be found at the official website.

Description: This is a beta of my new level that is coming up. I may delay it for at least a couple of months. So far, I have got a lobby that needs some improvement, a lounge on the second floor, and a partial hotel on the third floor. This is just to give you an idea of what I'm doing as well as with a plan of what's coming next. There'll be more than what's planned in the picture however. I'm going to have a parkade, throw in a few vehicles courtesy of hellcat and a penthouse or two. There will probally be a helipad on the roof. I know about all the bugs in this level. This was posted just to give you a preview.
