DeTRiTiC-iQ has posted some threads on the forums giving tips for the Capture the Flag level "Bespin Pipes." Click the numbers to find 1, 2, and 3.
The Limelite Updates - Hebedee @ 4:26 PM
MaDaVentor of The Limelite has notified me of some updates to his site. First, a suggestion forum has been put up for you to give Mada ideas for textures to make, which you can find somewhere here and here. Second, he has updated with some (3) new textures and one switch or animated texture, which can all be found there. Make sure to check them out, they're all nice.
JOMap Utility - Brandon @ 3:16 PM
UGG was kind enough to inform us that he's released JOMap version 1. I'll let him explain what it does:
This converts a Quake3 BSP map to one that Jedi Outcast can load. It allows you to play simple maps built with Q3Radiant or GtkRadiant, without having to send them to Raven for compiling.

Obviously, this is just a temporary thing until Raven releases their editing tools. This is still experimental, so don't expect it to work all the time. It may only work for very simple maps.
You can find more information, and the utility, on JOMap's website.

Michael Stemmle Interview - Rob @ 6:31 PM
Lou Graziani sends us some good word about an interview he had with Michael Stemmle, the scriptwriter for Jedi Outcast.
Hi JK II webmasters, I just conducted an interview with Michael Stemmle, the scriptwriter for Jedi Outcast. I've attached a copy of the interview. I basically just want this interview to be seen by the public, so you've all got permission to post it on your sites if you're interested. You can change the format or whatever to match your specifications, please just credit me.
Since I really dont have the authority to post things such as interviews, I thought I would just link you to the interview that was posted at the always cool, JKii.net Its an interesting read, so you should check it out.
New Jedi Outcast Skin: Imperial Enforcer - mscbuck @ 6:15 PM
File: Imperial Enforcer
Author: Bobafett765
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A little creation of mine, the Imperial Enforcer is used by the Empire for crowd control and other similar duties. The soldier wears the same basic Stormtrooper armor design, but instead of white, their armor is brown.
Going Out of Town - blujay @ 2:15 AM
I'm going to be leaving today and won't be back until at least the weekend, maybe next week. So until then, I leave you in the capable hands of Kedri and the Massassi staff. If you've sent me any e-mails already, don't expect a reply until at least next week. All comments and questions should be sent to staff@massassi.net. All files should be sent to levels@massassi.net, in accordance with our submission guidelines (see the "Submissions" post below). If you're banned and want to know why, use our ban inquiry form.

Well, see you next week!

Nifty Console Commands - Rob @ 5:29 PM
A few moments ago, a nifty little thread was posted. It details the use of most of the cool console commands people are asking about, and throws some Easter Eggs into the mix. This is really handy to have, rather than having to search all over the place for a list of secrets and some good descriptions.

Thankyou Corran2015 for posting that niftly little thread.

Hidden Jedi Outcast Multiplayer Models - Rob @ 4:40 PM
Was read the news over at JKii.net, and I noticed this little news post which peaked my interest.
BS87 sends word that he has discovered two new multiplayer models. I'll let him do the explaining: "So far, i have found 2 hidden MP models in the game. They are the imperial officer, and Kyles Ghost father. Here are their names, respectivly. To enable these, while in MP, open the console and type: Model \"modelname\" (with or without Quotes) Imperial - normal imperial model Morgan - Ghost of Kyles Father. Also, there *should* be red/blue versions of these models, but i havent tested all of them. to use these, type: Model \"modelname/blue\" or Model \"modelname/red\" Note: using red or blue of morgan (Kyle's father) makes him solid, and not ghost like i, think" So tinker around with those if you like and let us know how they work out!
Haven't tried it yet, but it sounds cool!

The Jedi Outcast Mod Shadowsabers' has been updated, so the .pk3 should now work properly.
Secret Areas in Jedi Outcast - Rob @ 12:05 PM
Dragon sends us word that he has uploaded a webpage that details the locations of all the secret locations in Jedi Outcast.
Looked cool to me, especially sinceI recently finished the game and haven't found all of the secrets.

It is a spoiler, so don't read it if you want to find them yourself.

New Jedi Outcast Skin: Dark Reborn - Rob @ 11:57 AM
File: Dark Reborn
Author: Orbital
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2

This is my first skinning attempt. After reading the instructions on file submissions I thought I'd give this a try.
See readme for more info.

New Jedi Outcast Skin: Scorpion v1.0 - Rob @ 11:49 AM
File: Scorpion v1.0
Author: ScOrPiOn_WLP
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This is a skin of Scorpion from the Mortal Kombat games. I got really bored when and I was home sick and just did it. I think it looks really good for the 1st JO skin I've ever made from scratch. Have a look at it and tell me what you think.
Submissions - blujay @ 1:54 AM
  • First of all, do not submit levels, mods, skins, or other files to staff@massassi.net!
  • Do send such files to levels@massassi.net. And if you have a Web site, do upload the file to your site and send us the URL instead of attaching the file to the e-mail itself.
  • Do not send large attachments (like 5 megabyte ones) to anyone's e-mail address unless you have asked ahead of time, or were instructed to like I just did. It's rude, and your e-mail will likely be deleted without being read!

We will update our submission instructions for Jedi Outcast soon, but until then, submit a valid readme and two screenshots with your level/skin/mod, as is required for Jedi Knight files. And send them to the correct e-mail address! Please!

New Jedi Outcast Mod: Jedi Outcast Skin Pack - Skimpy @ 7:49 PM
File: Jedi Outcast Skin Pack
Author: DOTR_Corran2015 and Wanderer
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This mod is a compilation of some of the best skins available, and one Bingu was kind enough to whip up for me. It also includes some Starsabers and a silver saber made by Wanderer. There will probably be updates to this mod every month or two as new skins come out. The main purpose of this mod is to put a lot of good skins in one file, instead of multiple files that may not be supported by a host. There’s the Absath skin, MotS Kyle, and a Dooku skin. I'll add to it and release updated versions occasionally. There are credits to all of the authors in the readme, and there’s a certain skin most Canadians might like, thanks Bingu.
New Jedi Outcast Mod: Menace of the Sith v.0.0 - mscbuck @ 6:04 PM
File: Menace of the Sith v.0.0
Author: Dynasty (JediSlayer1)
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A vast improvement upon the lightsaber special effects in MP. Added lens flares, new flashes, a new damage effect, and increased the likeliness of saber blocks in MP by about 37%.
Zully updates his online profile - Rob @ 4:01 PM
I have updated my online portfolio, The Texture Factory with a few more textures. And just in case you missed the news, all textures that I put up on my site are now free to use for the public. I'm in the process of converting them, as well as their partners (that would have made the page far more tedious to look at), for a variety of different games, including JO. Until then, feel free to convert them yourselves.
Sounds cool, so check it out.
New Jedi Outcast Mod: Luke Skywalker's rotj lightsaber - Rob @ 3:30 PM
File: Luke Skywalker's rotj lightsaber
Author: Sergan Venceslas
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: This saber hilt is used by Luke Skywalker in the Return of the Jedi movie. This mod works, but when I played, the lightsaber color mixed with blue when you swung it. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it's kind of cool.
New Jedi Outcast Skin: Tron - Skimpy @ 1:24 PM
File: Tron
Author: Jeff Adams "Lehm"
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: 'Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight II' Multiplayer Bot/Skin based on the lead character from the 1982 movie Tron. This is my first attempt at skinning. It is based on the prisoner model. The majority of the textures are new for this skin. I had hoped to do more detail on the skin, but it got fairly frustrating so I decided to release it as is. It at the very least resembles Tron. If anyone wishes to improve upon my efforts feel free to do so. Just be sure to give me recognition for my contributions.
New Jedi Outcast Mod: Shadowsabers - Skimpy @ 12:56 PM
File: Shadowsabers
Author: Wanderer
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A new series of classic design sabers and a new saber grip texture. Have fun with them!
Positive JO Review at PCShooter - Aglar @ 11:14 AM
At last a reviewer, PCShooter, sees the true magnificence that is Jedi Outcast. I quote:
SW Jedi Knight II takes you on 24 amazing missions. LucasArts should receive high marks for teaming with Raven Studios and adopting the Quake III Arena engine in this great SW game.
The final rating was 9.2 out of 10. You can check out the full review here. Thanks go out to JediKnightII.net for the great news.
Viruses, and lost e-mail - Rob @ 8:51 AM
In an extremely unexpected turn of events, my PC has been infected with an e-mail worm. I've rooted out the problem, so nothing I have posted is infected. However, I have lost all of my e-mail files as a result. Which means all of my personal e-mails, sent messages, important buissness e-mails, and level submissions aside from the two I was able to save (one of which will be posted shortly) are gone.

The killer part is that the original infected e-mail was in the levels@massassi.net box. Which means someone who has levels@massassi.net also has this e-mail worm sitting in there box.

While I don't think the sending of a virus is intentional, if you have ever sent anything to massassi plase check your e-mail box for the worm. Also, if you have sent something in recent weeks please resend it so I or someone else can post it.

Thankyou for your patience.
