JK2 in Linux (Not the Server) - blujay @ 10:37 AM
Over at Jedi-Outcast.com I saw that people now have JK2 running in Linux (the game, not the server).
JO Name Colors - blujay @ 8:07 AM
After some investigation I've finally discovered how to change the color of the shadow behind name text. Here's a quick summary of changing your name colors.

  • To set a color for a certain part of text, type a caret (a ^, which is Shift+6), then a number corresponding to the color. For example, to make my name blue, I would type: ^4blujay
  • To set the color of text and its shadow, if the shadow's color is the same as the text's color, type: ^TextColor^TextColor
  • To set the color of text and its shadow, if the text and shadow colors differ, type: ^TextColor^ShadowColor^TextColor

You can make some really cool looking names this way.

Author: Anthony Piggott
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Prepare for a new dimension of excitement for JO MP! This adds a new skin to Jedi Outcast; Kyle in those dark clothes that he wore in MotS, down with that poncy white shirt and brown trousers I say. If this gets enough praise, I'll think about making a SP patch version.
Correction: Dismemberment Mod NOT for MP - blujay @ 10:45 AM
Back on Saturday I posted news about a dismemberment mod on JK2.net and I said that it enabled dismemberment in MP. It actually does not. What it does do is allow additional parts to be sliced off, and increase the probability of it happening. It only works in SP.

rubacava let us know that JK2.net posted a tutorial by Michael Chang Gummelt of Raven on how to make MP skins and how to use SOF2 ModView to work with JK2.

A Milestone....sort of - Rob @ 9:35 PM
Today we, at massassi, are proud to host our first Jedi Outcast Submision. This just goes to show that this site is going to be here, and that it is going to continue to provide you with the same great resources, editor saavy, and nearly anything else you could think of that pertains to the Jedi Knight universe. You can download the mod here.

A big round of applause goes to lordvader for putting forth the extra effort to send the first Jedi Outcast related submission.

I think there was hesitation to send in Jedi Outcast files because the masses thought we didn't support that yet. Well, we're here kicking and screaming. So submit some stuff already! The game has been out almost two full days!

New Jedi Outcast Mod: Über-Saber - Rob @ 9:27 PM
File: Über-Saber
Author: lordvader
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A small patch which fixes a small problem I noted in Jedi Outcast, which is that when the saber fans out, the glow does not remain "smooth" as in the movies, but becomes streaked. Also, I made the invulnerability bubble which appears when the player respawns blue, because it looked cooler that way.
