New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Let's Roll! - mscbuck @ 7:04 PM
File: Let's Roll!
Author: The_Mega-ZZTer
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: A VotJ-themed level meant for use with ID_Junkguy's Rolling Game Mod. There are two paths, and some very original things not seen in the rolling game original level, the best of which is moving ramps and obstacles.

See if you can find the conc secret! It involves the river seen at the beginning.

Author's Note: Although I have edited Jedi Knight for a while, this is my first released level. Make SURE you use it with Junky's Rolling Mod, or else it won't be enjoyable.
New Jedi Outcast Multiplayer Level: Karshok, Security Depot - Kedri @ 1:46 PM
File: Karshok, Security Depot
Author: Axcerion
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: Small/Medium Bespin-themed map containing two separate areas linked together by a double-helix-surrounded catwalk. Intended for sized duels as it offers different places which should prove challanging to the duelists, including: spiral stairs, narrow rooms, open spaced platforms, and a double helix walkway. Will fit for smaller FFA and team-based games.
New Jedi Knight Multiplayer Level: Sith Temple at Coruscant - Kedri @ 1:24 PM
File: Sith Temple at Coruscant
Author: JK FoxHound
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: As you could see this is the place in the first Darth Maul Comic from year 2001; if you got the comic and look over the pictures you will see many things... well, almost everything is much the same, except perhaps the throne room. I have been noticing there is a drop in framerate in this level but you're gonna have to bare with it. That's pretty much about it, except this is the actual first Coruscant or any level that JK FoxHound has been releasing, you can visit the JK FoxHound page at www.snakearea.cjb.net.
New Jedi Knight Mod: The Dungeons and Dragons TC - Kedri @ 1:09 PM
File: The Dungeons and Dragons TC
Author: Justin "Saber-Scorpion" Stebbins
Screenshots: Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2
Description: The Dungeons and Dragons Total Conversion may not be what some would call a true "Total Conversion", but I think I've worked long and hard enough on this mod now to put the two letters "TC" at the end. Others are welcome to disagree with this statement. Anyway, the D&DTC changes the existing weapons, skins, and Force powers to weapons, skins, and spells from Dungeons and Dragons (been living under a rock and don't know what D&D is? It's the medieval fantasy role-playing rule system that games like Baldur's Gate, Dark Alliance, and Neverwinter Nights run on). This mod does not, however, add anything to do with statistics, skills, or other aspects of the Dungeons and Dragons rule-set. It simply changes the game to look like it is taking place in an up-close-and-personal version of the world of Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate II, two of my favorite games of all time. Oh, and I am planning to release a multiplayer level (The Candlekeep RPG) for this mod in the future. For now it works best with existing medieval levels. Any level that takes place in a castle-like or all-natural environment will do, I guess. ;-) I hope you enjoy this mod, and feel free to e-mail any comments to me.

PS: Please read the manual.doc included in the ZIP for more info.

Jedi Academy Interview at CVG - Kedri @ 11:58 AM
The crew at Computer and Video Games sat down with Activision producer Graham Fuchs for an interesting little Q&A. Here's a snippet:
What's your personal favourite thing about Jedi Academy, and why choose that?

Fuchs: I think my favourite thing is the way in which you can combine your acrobatic moves and saber attacks. I've had fights in the game that look like they were straight out of the movies, and dare I say, some that looked even better. For example, when fighting a dark Jedi, he may push me to the ground and try to stab me before I get up, but I can backflip up to a standing position and jump over him while swinging my saber downward to kill him while his saber is still stuck in the ground trying to stab where I was.

The game winds up being sort of a "Jedi simulator". It's just a ton of fun.
The interview also includes a whole series of exclusive screenshots, so be sure to check them out. Thanks to Kenn Hoekstra for tipping us to the story!

Sobig Virus Rampant: Scan your computers! - blujay @ 10:13 PM
In the past 24 hours, the Massassi staff have received probably over 1,000 e-mails from the W32.Sobig.F virus. I've received over 500 myself. We've gotten it before, but in the past 24 hours the number of e-mails from it has skyrocketed. We don't know why, but it's possible that a frequent visitor of Massassi has become infected; perhaps one with a fast computer and Internet connection.

Therefore, if you don't already have anti-virus software installed and have scanned your system (and why not? There are many free AV scanners available), please download Symantec's free removal tool and run it to clean your system.
New Program: Zymotico's 3do Viewer - blujay @ 5:55 AM

New Jedi Outcast Tutorial: Importing Character Models - Kedri @ 9:47 AM
Tutorial: Importing Character Models
Author: Michael Frost
Description: An elaborate, comprehensive tutorial on taking models created in 3D Studio Max, and exporting them for use in Jedi Knight 2. Includes information on testing and troubleshooting, creating .SKIN, and .SURF files, accomodating custom sound packs, handling shaders, packing up your PK3 for distribution, and much much more.

Staff Note: This is, to date, the largest, most detailed tutorial that's ever been submitted here at the Massassi Temple. Although there are several areas in this multi-part tutorial that may not pertain to your project, it is definitely our recommendation you read through it to get a better understanding of how Q3Engine-based file systems operate. Countless thanks go to Michael Frost and all who contributed in the making of this tutorial.
